the direct pass is the most random football rule. Most refs won't whistle the most obvious direct passes even though they should. This makes situations like this one today "controvential". If the rule was actually taken serious by refs around the world we would be seeing indirect freekicks much more often and noone would be shocked.

Either remove the rule or actually whistle it.

    I never said I read such posts but you could probably bet on it to hear it pretty soon imo.

    Could have something to do with it being Holy Saturday though, Italians are hardcore catholics. In my town for example the easter mass is taking place as I type.

    Definitely can't remove it, would kill football knowing that you can easily bypass ANY pressure by passing it back to your GK who obviously can not be pressed when the ball is in his hands.

    I thought Sunday mass is what matters :D My best friend is a catholic priest in the making (no joke) and even he cant be bothered by the saturday night mass
