Physical outlet, it isn't an open game. morata wouldn't have done much, but we wouldn't have had a player up there winning those high balls like Nando. As the game opens up, Morata will come on and it will work for us.
We were putting pressure on them for like entire half. We needed mobility upfront and not a target man who holds the ball (and screws up on almost every occasion). Had we entered with a parked bus I'd agree.

vidal as bad as he was, was still important imo

    id actually bring in coman
    I'd put both.

So far Coman is not getting enough chances, he's being ignored and it irritates me. He's the guy who can offer something extra, no idea why he doesn't play him more often.

They're a tough team to play against, but at last they're not Benfica or Porto. Could have been worse, guys.

On a more serious note, I think we're playing well enough, but our creativity is close to 0 because they're marking Tevez off the game, who's probably our only source of creativity out there. Their defending is superb and I think with Llorente, whose strength helps upfront, is helping them mostly. I'd put on Morata in the second. It's not like he's going to score anyway with his form.

I wish Simeone dies on that touch line.

Don't expect them to get tired. Last season showed us that they won't. They are trained to do this for 90 minutes. After all, that's how they got to the final. Our chance is a clean sheet and 0:0, or the next long distance shot from Pogs or Marchisio to go in.

i think Morata should come on for Llorente you can see that he's not in form we need better movement up front if we want to score. in the middle vidal needs to step up his game, the def is solid we need to keep them at a short leash

We might not create, but at least we are not afraid of them.

They are parking the bus at their own stadium.

    Couldn't agree more!

Though I'd like to see EuroMax move to a 4-3-3 with say 20 or 30 minutes remaining and try and snatch an away win, getting us to 6 points in the first two games. Would put us in a very commanding position in the group.

I think Coman's time will come, I also think Morata will come in soon into the second. Look at the service Nando is getting though, for. moratas sake I hope it's better than that.

if only marchisio effort went in the goal the goalkeeper wouldn't have seen that ball but i agree against this lot our best chance are shots from distance or some brilliance from tevez

Wow I can't believe people think Coman should come into this game. He is like a little boy compared to what is needed tonight.

This is one of the most physical matches we will play this year. Llorente is doing a good job keeping Madrid's back line from stepping out and pushing their whole team forward.

And those headers resulted in what? :sergio:
Not always his fault if he wins a header and players aren't in support to pick it up.

When Athletico push up we can't play it out the back, we need an outlet down the pitch to win the ball. He has won the majority of his headers, sometimes when against two players. That is a decent outlet if you ask me, we just need Tevez or Vidal getting closer to them.

I'm in the minority here, but as an unbiased spectator I love these sort of highly contested, physical games with teams as good at it as those.

As a Juve fan I'd obviously prefer a safe Bianconero win though.
