The fact is. Everyone on this board wanted Bonucci gone and he suddenly developed into top defender. I'm not saying Ogbonna will or even has the potential to. I'm just saying that defenders can suddenly become top class or suddenly become $#@!. They are like that.

It's true. Perhaps Bonucci could lend Ogbonna his personal motivator. I don't mind mistakes from a relatively young defender, as in Ogbonna, or Bonucci of previous years... Those things can be improved upon, and slowly cut out from a defender's game, as he grows more experienced and more composed with age.

I do worry about motivation and work ethic of a player... and that's the problem with Ogbonna. He doesn't make Bonucci style (of previous seasons) mistakes, that are just mind-blowing in their ridiculousness. He gets beat due to lack of effort, and gives up on plays. How many times have we seen him standing still or jogging back while the opposing team attacks? Countless times. It's depressing given his athleticism.

Bonucci's personal motivator + Ogbonna = World class defender?

Couldn't have said it better myself, Ogbonna has his big contract so it looks like he couldn't care how bad he plays. It's clear as day he's not working no where near hard enough.

I kind of wish Allegri had started this match with the XI he wants to play in the CL final. Just to keep them match ready and sharp...

It's kind of scary thinking that our first choice XI won't have played a match together since the second leg against Madrid, as Morata and Marchisio were suspended for Coppa final... Will they be in synch on June 6th? Right off the start?

IF they are not in synch now after months of playing together in the starting XI, then they will never be.

I guess I don't mean "in synch"... just with that extra sharpness in interplay from regular gameplay together. I wonder if we'll see a poor first 5-10 minutes because of this? Probably not, but the worry is there.
I am certain we will see a poor start where we will mostly be sucking up pressure.

The way I see it in regards to this match, is take a look at the 4 subs who are on the pitch right now. With the exception of Ogbonna, who wouldn't even be starting this match if Barzagli were ready, the other three (Pereyra, Llorente, Padoin), are normally the first three players to be called upon by Allegri for a match off the bench, so in a way it makes sense to give those three some serious minutes today in case they need to come in next week.
