Ahh. The Borriello debacle. I never really understood what Conte saw in him. Instead I remember a lot of his looking lost on the pitch while the commentators went on about his good looks and poor form.
Everyone points out our top striker had 10 goals last season, but Matri surely would have had 15-18 if he had played more regularly all season. Same with this year imo. I'm not sure that Llorente is that much better? Better, yes. But not that much.
I like how Matri combines so well with both GioMidget and Vucinic. Rotate Gio and Vuci and keep Matri in most games. Quags is good on his own creating spectacular goals, but way too inconsistent, and his interplay with our SS is terrible.
On a sidenote, PDC has been as pedestrian as ever. Works hard, but all for what? To give away possession every time down the field? TO get turned inside out by Cuadrado? Bring on Cacares... I think he'd play well in that position...
