It's 45 minutes of football, but it shows a lot.
-Our defensive line is terrible. On more than one occasion I saw Motta and Bonucci both completely out of sync when there was a through ball played in between the gaps. The whole defense is also playing very narrowly, De Ceglie is getting raped by Alvarez, I'm not sure what benefits we'd have by keeping him (Ashton) deep now we're a goal down.
-Wingers aren't being used. As the game progressed they got into it more but there has been a total of one threatening run from a winger, by Krasić. Pepe hasn't been at the game. No work rate, no end product.
-Our best signing of the summer? Looks like Felipe Melo, completely different player.
-The players look out of ideas of what to do a lot of the time. A lot of shrugging by the person in possession, and the movement isn't good enough by a lot of the players. This is where Felipe Melo seems to shine, he is standing on the ball and looking around him. Something which the rest of midfield and attack have to do, it's vital.
-You can tell Quagliarella is a new signing. He's finding good positions in the box but otherwise, he isn't sure of what to do in the build up. If we're using him as a forward, I don't want it to be as a box striker who we just smack long balls to, I want to see the ball at his feet as well, and no surprises, Juventus doesn't know how to play the ball to feet. Only an outsider like Krasić managed to play it into his feet this half.
-Marchisio, I'd like to know what he was trying on Donati's goal. Wrong side of the goal completely. If he's going to act bitchy about a new contract, then he needs to pull his weight. Pathetic performance.
Now Bari have a goal, they're going to suck us in and counter with those quick players they have. Things don't look bright.
