Marchisio is the quietest of the 3 CM probabaly because he is foreced to the left of the trio and still getting familiar with the new system but he has still played well.

Grygera cross are so hit and hope he never looks to pick someone out or even try to knock it into a dangerous area and he always panics and overhits them badly.

IS DP injured???

Btw, I am impressed by Diego's hustle to chase down balls -- and Tiago's aggression in the Chievo box to force defensive play on the goal line as the ball is rolling out.

Grygera is the only player who has been bad. But he has been so bad that i really hope we sort his transfer out and either buy another RB, or try Caceres in RB till Zebina is back. Chievo wins all balls in our RB area. Then also Grygera goes forward and its Diego who has to go all the way back to defend, or Cannavaro has to run out of his postion, cause Grygera cant run back to his RB position. His the real clearly weak position.

Oh, one has to wonder, did we need to splash so much cash and bring on Melo. His a good player, but we clearly need more improvement on RB position. I wonder if we would have showed more money to Shalcke, we might have gotten ourselves Rafinha already.

I thought we looked pretty good moving the ball around; with Diego and Tiago working together and Amauri holding up the ball, we have so many weapons to choose from. Already it's obvious that we have more class than we did last year and season prior, so that's good to see. We just need to finish better and improve our flank play on the right. Grygera won't cut it -- we need someone like Rafinha.

The defense was OK in the first half, but fell asleep a few times. I think we can do better back there.

Diego, Tiago and Amauri have been awesome, as well as some traitor in the backline. Poulsen has been OK but is suffering from Sissoko syndrome when he has the ball... perhaps he should fast, I don't know.

I would rather see Trezeguet in there than Iaquinta, however. We need a better finisher.

But overall, I like what I'm seeing in this first match of a new season.

Indeed. This is going to be crucial for us.

I think Tiago might have to be a regular starter if he continues on like this. He works so well in a diamond or three-man mid.

You sure that Trez would've scored the goal? Iaquinta is the one that has made the difference thus far, he's not running the show, but he's surely running the scoreline. I agree that he definetly should've scored that 100% chance, but he just got unlucky, he played it kinda right, the keeper moved in other direction.

once again, i think the fact that our defence on the wings espescially keeps getting changed and swapped is hurting us as this means our defenders cant get any chemistry going.

If we score another, Ciro should take off one of the strikers and put in Trezeguet. Chievo would be ripe for the taking and Trez would benefit from it.
