Ranieri would have to adapt a little and position Cigarini/Marchisio and Zanetti/Nocerino like Gattuso and Pirlo are positioned on AC Milan. I know, its a stretch, but he did find use for the guy in Parma...

As for a CB... there's lots of CBs out there... Secco just can't be afraid to spend some euros... no one gives good players away for free.
