Get mIRC

I've finally decided to start an IRC channel for juventuz users, mainly for the sake of talking 'live' during matches instead of having to wait 60 seconds between each message (not that it affects me :p).

I'll probably have to end up having to make a tutorial to get everyone to login, but for now I'll let you all try to figure it out.

I haven't decided who I'll allow to be the ops (moderators) of the channel, but naturally I have supreme power

An important thing to remember is that you can't just use your nickname from here, since there are thousands of users on those servers. So choose a nickname that's unique, but similar to your nickname on the forums, so that you can easily be identified

Also, please don't conduct any illegal activity (sharing of copyright material etc.) on the channel, because yeah.. they don't allow that.

<numerodix> hey graham, when you look up a user's info, you get their primary choice username. so you could tell everyone to use their forum nick as the primary username, then if its already taken you can at least right click on a user and find out who he is
Channel details
Server: Dalnet (just choose a random Dalnet server)
Channel name: #juventuz

During matches, this IRC channel will be for MATCH-RELATED TALK ONLY. If you are seen writing an excessive number of off-topic messages, you will be kicked from the channel. Some people complained about this in the previous match, but most people understood the reason for this.

We understand that emotions will be running high, but please keep the decorative "Forza this, Forza that" to a minimum, because it's really distracting to the overall mood of the channel.

It's simple: if you want to chit-chat about miscellaneous things, there is a private chat function (double-click on the user's name that you want to chat with).

I'll edit this post if I've forgotten anything. Let's see if it this thing works out :D

graham, if you supply me with the necessary details, I can connect the superb forum chat ( ) to the irc channel.
Nevermind, the applet is k.o. I removed the link.

Anyhow, what kind of rules does the server adminstrator have in terms of activity level? I mean once they register the channel will they remove if it's used only sporadically?

    Highly informative.. anything specific?
Sorry bout the short answer, I just had to read through a fairly long documentation without any paragraphing and I'm not too happy about that. What I wrote in the first post is a paraphrase of that whole document, which is why I sounded a bit authoritarian...

They said something like "if a manager doesn't log in for 21 days, the channel will be purged". I don't remember the amount of time that has to pass without any users logging into the channel.
