Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea. Whereas your top four [according to position last year] are Inter, Roma, Lazio and AC Milan. I know exactly who i'd rather be facing each week.

Considering, Palermo who finished 5th in Serie A couldn't beat a very week Newcastle side with our third choice keeper in goal (we won 1-0)... And we finished 14th in the EPL. It just tells you the difference.

According to the international federation of football history and statistics, only Brazil and Spain have a harder league than the Premiership.
2 out of your 4 clubs lost to Milan in pivitol games in the CL. The England national team can't find their arse with both hands. The EPL is ruining football by importing foreign players by the truckload. Look at Arsenal... they are starting pimple faced little teeny-boppers and doing well in EPL. Your lower division team are god awful and no team in the EPL plays any sort of tactical football. It is all individualized, attack at all costs, high entertainment-low quality, football. You are clearly totally a blind EPL supporter, so further conversation could be pointless.

Don't judge the Serie A based on last year alone either.

Wow.. just bringing up the Brazilian league seriously hurts your credibility.

Excellent post. Even the lower ranked teams in Italy are tough because of the way they play tactically sound football. All they do in England is back the ball forward and play defense totally inproperly. Look how badly Milan tangled up the Man U and Liverpool defense. EPL the best... what a joke.
7. Empoli FC
8. Atalanta Bergamo
9. Sampdoria Genoa
10. Udinese Calcio
11. AS Livorno
12. FC Parma
13. Catania Calcio
14. Reggina Calcio
15. AC Siena
16. Torino FC
17. Cagliari Calcio
18. AC Chievo Verona
19. Ascoli Calcio
20. FC Messina

Not one of those teams, would get anywhere near the top half of the table in the EPL.

Serie A consists of 7 teams: Inter, AC Milan, Lazio, Juventus, Roma, Fiorentina, Palermo.

Only two of those teams have the quality for a "top 6" finish in the EPL: AC Milan and Roma.

Sorry mate, but the Brazillian league is one of the best in the world. I'm a keen follower of Brazilian football.
Why? Because they stand off and give each other all the time in the world to do fancy stepovers, dribbles, tricks and score great goals? Complete and utter bullshit. No league in the world comes close to England, Spain and Italy. None.

I'm not taking that point away, Milan are a good team. Roma who finished 2nd in Serie A got slaughtered by Manchester United.

Milan are the only Italian team who would perform top 5 standard in the EPL.
Yes but Italy was all over the place last season because of too many things going on. TToo say Milan is the only team that will perform to top 5 standard is very myopic. I watch both leagues and I can honestly say there are 4 very good teams in England who would do very well in any league. Spurs would do okay but not that well in seriea whilst the others would struggle in my view. Roma, Juventus, Inter Milan, Milan are quite capable of winning the Epl, never mind top 5. Fiorentina would do well, probably be in the top 5. I dont know about Lazio, i don't think they would make it. If Newcastle play the way they have been playing , they would be relegated to serieB, and I am not saying that out of spite. The defending is just amateurish and you just cannot get away with that with some teams in SerieA where it is harder to score against. I do not know any seriea side who take UEFA cup seriously. I have never understood the mentality but they just don't care for it

Do you sit at SJP every week along with 53,000 other NUFC fans? No.

We have played some fantastic football this season. You see some replays on the television showing 10 second clips of a defensive mix up.

I've watched us in Italy, Germany, Holland. Considering our "youth" players beat Palermo 1-0 IN Italy. I very much doubt we'd be relegated.

Doesn't sound like he watches anything but EPL. I think he notices how good Brazilians are and assumes their league is sweet too. He doesn't understand that the brazilian league is just a feeder system for Serie A and La Liga.

Palermo especially last year were red hot in the Serie A at the time and clearly put their effort to the possibility of qualifying for CL. Italian teams could care less about UEFA. Most teams in Italy just want to win scudetto first and everything else second. You see what happens when Milan only cared about CL.

Exactly. If the Brazilian league was so good why would their best players leave it for La Liga and Serie A?

Playing against a team a few times is much different than surviving the day to day in the Serie A. I think your opinoin of football is severly skewed by the modern media. You must be from England or America.

Hang on, another member on here was comparing the Man U v Milan games, so I just turned it round.

At the end of the day, I watch about 3 or 4 different leagues. I know what i'm talking about.

Stu and Tonykart appear to be the only people on here without valid points.

Cheers for the discussion to the rest of you anyway, but I must leave now. Will be back later to check the interview thread. :agree: Thanks for your help!

Yeah, and like these teams would even have a chance of a top 5 finish in Serie A..come on man, look at the EPL teams, the only team thats got tactics and that would have a chance in Serie A is Liverpool,Benitez is one hell of a coach and he surely would be contenders if he were to coach Liverpool in serie A ,i mean i dont even like L'pool but who from England have won the Champions League recently, only Liverpool and MU in 1998..Then u'd have to go all the way to 1983 to find yet again Liverpool lifting the cup..
