A display of ruthless attacking dominance saw off the threat of Roma and enabled Juventus to pull three points clear at the top of Serie A last night.
Zeman’s men had little answer to the Bianconeri’s high tempo and were made to wait until midway through the second half before enjoying a significant spell of possession.
Pulling the strings in the middle of the park was, of course, Andrea Pirlo, who topped the completed passes index (67) as well as notching his second goal of the season with another free-kick in front of the home faithful.
Giallorossi goalkeeper Stekelenburg was made to work regularly throughout proceedings, with the hosts striking 13 efforts on target. Vucinic led the way with five attempts on goal, while Marchisio trailed just behind on three.
Ensuring the solid foundations for an important success was Chiellini, whose first rate performance was reflected in the statistics. The 28-year-old made 24 interceptions and was second only to Pirlo in terms of completed passes.
