The License Commission has examined the applications for UEFA Licenses for the 2007/2008 season and has resolved: a) to give UEFA licenses to: Empoli, Fintina, Inter, Juventus, Lazio, Milan, Palermo, Parma, Roma, Sampdoria, Torino, Udinese.b) NOT to give UEFA licenses to :Ascoli, Atalanta, Cagliari, Catania, Chievo, Livorno, Messina, Reggina, Siena. A motivated appeal can be given to the clubs not granted a license within 5 days of notice.

If UEFA can make an exception and grant us a Intertoto cup place, and then through Intertoto we can qualify for a UEFA Cup and win the damn cup at the end.

Wishful thinking , huh ?

Like I said in the Heinze thread... perhaps an exception to the rule and an endorsement by FIGC was the condition for Juventus to drop their appeal to the TAR? Intertoto isn't exactly desirable or glamorous, many teams don't want to be in it to begin with, but an effective way for the new Juventus to get into some European competition and lure some better players.

Why else would UEFA grant Juventus, a Serie B club, a UEFA license for this season?

That just doesn't make sense. Why would UEFA give a spot to a second division team that just won promotion? What like a present? They have a soft spot for us? :D

I think this just means we are eligible to enter UEFA competitions in the usual way, meaning finishing top 8 for next season, because we meet all their criteria, etc. whereas one Ascoli, for example, doesn't.

I want Juventus to earn its honours, not just have them handed over.
I do too, but really they did strip two earned honours away... the least they could do is to give them a shot at getting a new one especially since its becoming more obvious that the whole thing was a scam. Unfortunately, I see Atalanta, Sampdoria or Udinese taking the spot.

If Juve doesn't get the Intertoto spot, I have to wonder what FIGC/UEFA said to get Juventus to stop the TAR appeal. Was it really just the reduction to -9 points?

Trust me, that's the way it will be. No one's handing us anything, we just got a license which makes us eligible for UEFA competitions, it doesn't mean we will be given a spot.

What is the logic behind UEFA accepting `r request for a place in the UEFA CUP

That exceptions meant the loss of the club entried 5-7 in the corresponding standings.
I don't think we will play UEFA football next season, though i will be happy to see them play.
