French duo in Italian link
Didier Drogba and Peguy Makanda Luyindula, two of France’s most interesting young strikers, could soon be on their way to Italy.
Marseille ace Drogba (pictured) has been linked with Juventus recently and they must have been impressed with his display last night.
The 25-year-old scored the only goal in the win over Inter where he was a constant threat to the Nerazzurri defence.
Drogba is being talked about as a possible replacement for David Trezeguet who is being tipped to leave this summer.
Talks over a new Trez contract in Turin continue to stall and the international is wanted by Barcelona.
Drogba has scored 19 League goals for his club this term but he also impressed during Marseille’s Champions’ League stint.
Meanwhile, Luyindula is already dreaming of a move to Serie A after a good season with Lyon.
"I would love to play in Italy," said the 24-year-old. "An attacker can only consider himself to be a great if he can make an impact in that country.
"My contract here expires in 2006. I would love the opportunity to feature for Milan alongside Andriy Shevchenko and Manuel Rui Costa."
