Is it possible that his career is over:shocked:??
When you are confronted with a torn knee ligament the chance always exists. Even if you're 21. It doesn't look better after you hit 30..

It is knee ligament damage we're talking about here, right? I mean, the similar injury Del Piero and many other football players have had? Because I have been reading some stuff in Italian about Andrade, but I got a bit confused as I don't know the medical terms in Italian.

Broken kneecap for Andrade

Jorge Andrade, after spending the night at the Fornaca clinic, underwent Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and X-ray tests to diagnose the left knee injury suffered in Rome.

These tests, carried out by Professor Carlo Faletti, showed that the patella bone is shattered. Therefore surgery will be needed to repair the bone and to review the condition of the kneecap tendon, which was operated on two years ago.

The abovementioned situation appears less serious than previously thought, but the player will still be unavailable for a long period of time.

:D That's definitely NOT what la gazzetta dello sport reported yesterday.

They were in fact talking about a tendon around the kneecap, IIRC just below the kneecap, which would have ruptured. Now I didn't believe it would have been just that, because even though it's a tough injury, it's not career threatening.

This seems to be though. Players have recovered from broken kneecaps, but the word "shattered" in particular does not sound good. I've read the same piece in Italian now though and "shattered" isn't exactly a just translation.

No matter how fast Andrade recovers, my guess is he'll have to settle for quite some pain after his career as well. In any case it's one of the most gruesome injuries in the world of sports.

ya the italian version of this article isn't quite the same. The article in Italian says that andrade fractured his knee cap and he needs the tendon that holds the patella bone in place repaired.

Roque junior is one of the worst defenders I have ever seen. He was playing with leverkusen in germany and he was a tragidy.. he is so lazy and stupid
Weird how one of the worst defenders can manage to reach nearly 50 caps for Brazil and win 1 WC.But wth I don't even want him,I just said I would want him over Di Biagio. My preferred way to continue is we give Criscito,Legrottaglie and later Boumsong a chance.

guys guys guys!!! teake it easy.
1. we need a central defender, thats the FACT. Criscito is a good sub, not more at the moment. He will be a great defender once, too young.
2. Di Biagio can bring alot of experience which is needed for our young defender.
3. WE NEVER HAD 20yr old central defenders in our history, we need someone experienced + move Chiellini to Di Biagio, they can make a good partnership... + Molinaro and Zdenek on flanks... We\ll do just fine.

if you look at it, he is not gonna ruine our defence any further, thats for sure.
He is better than anyone esle available. Remember, we have Torino next sunday!
Not mentioning the MUST WIN encounter on 04 Nov.

We have to be alive by Jan when the window opens, then sign Barzagli and Ivanovic. both world class.

I dont want that Di Biagio in Juve. I mean.. we got Legro, Boumsong and can even play Chiellini, Zebina and Grygera in the middle together with Criscito.

Are we Juventus or are we Albinoleffe? Di Biago - No thanks!
