Even though we have always looked forward to our derby matches, or the ones against Inter in the Derby d'Italia or even the matches against Milan, I think our battles against Roma are the more special and intriguing. It's not news anymore that the managers of both clubs do not get along and there have been many well-publicized incidents between Moggi and Sensi in the past.
Roma's approach to this match will be totally different to ours. Unlike us, who will have to defend a Scudetto title we won last May, Roma will be more relaxed and will play in a 'nothing to lose' manner. The type of manner that has helped the likes of Lazio and Chievo excel this season. You see, Roma have already booked their ticket to the UEFA Cup last Wednesday by beating Lazio in the Coppa Italia and reaching the final against Milan - who will play in the Champions League next season instead - and thus, Roma will play the remaining matches just for pride and honour.
I'm only worried about this match because it coincides with a severe drop of form in our play lately. It all started in our unconvincing derby win, after that came the draw against Barca - which showed a little bit of improvement - and finally last week's comeback against Bologna in which we started badly but scored 2 goals in quick succession to get a draw.
I hope the Juve that will show up on Saturday night will be the Juve that won against Inter and Milan so convincingly. We need to be lethal in attack and that will depend on Nedved and Del Piero, who haven't been playing greatly but now is the right time for them to come back, it should also be easier with Samuel's suspension. On the other end, our defense should be more cautious and not let any unnecessary goals like the ones we let in against Barca and Bologna. It seems that Iuliano got the flu, which means Lippi will have to play Ferrara and Montero, or maybe rest Montero for the Barca clash and play Tudor in defense.
Finally, the match will be played on Saturday night - the last match in Week 29 - which means that we will already know the results of Inter and Milan's matches against Brescia and Empoli respectively.
Good Luck to the boys !!
