for me,quality is more important.versatility is of secondary concern with the likes of zambrotta, birindelli, maresca and camo able to play in AM and LB,which are the ones that jank occupies.
Of course quality is more important, let's not be morons here. If versatility would be more important we would buy crap players that can play anywhere.

But the point is that without Nedved our attacking options are very few, and we seem extremely reluctant to buy a backup for him. Jankulovski can more or less play anywhere in the mid, and at LB wich would allow Zambo to play in the mid. To me it seems like overkill to have Rothen and Kapo. And I can't ever recall Maresca or Camo playing at leftback, it would surprise me if you have seen that. Birindelli doesn't seem to have much trust in the team nowaday either. There's no point in getting Rothen without us being able to use him to his fullest, and I think that would be easier with Jankulovski. Not that I'm that keen on him either to be honest.

Imo our back-up for Nedved should be Maresca, and though Jankulovski is versatile when it comes to playing behind the forwards he's inferior to both Neddy and Enzo imo.

As I understand it Enzo proved that he could play behind the strikers at Piacenza, sadly I didn't see him there and can't comment. I'¨m sure he could do that pretty well well, but fact is (as I know it) is that he hasn't done that for us, as he doesn't have trust there. And that's that. We're still very different without Nedved, and Kapo could probably fix some of that, but Maresca hasn't improved that flaw this year for us.

Could change if Deschamps comes though, but that's another story.

Agreed, and Rothen definitely has more quality than Jank.
Hmm...a Jankulovski vs Rothen debate would be fun, but for our squad, Jankulovski is by far better. Rothen has a great shot and long pass, but he's slow and doesn't tackle that well. Jankulovski is faster (we need pace) and more verstile.

Same here. He may not be as fast as Jankulovski, but he doesn't stop running. The effort he puts into his performances is outstanding imo, and he has one of the best left-footed crosses in the game, not to mention the danger he provides with his set pieces.
