woah, that’s pretty surprising. Looks like he comes with an option to buy as well. Still only 21. He’s definitely too good for serie C, hopefully he helps them get promoted and gets a look with the first team. he can play multiple spots up front but I could see him on that left wing.

I mean, at the end, some of his mistakes are more victim of circumstances than strictly bad decisions.

The squad was on a high winning so many scudettos and he thought we were in a position to become a leader in European football so he gambled on Ronaldo and then the pandemic hit full force. World football shuts down and a massive source of income for us immediately dries up. And we had already committed so much money to things that require your sources of income to be steady. That's a massive bump in the road. And the rails fell off almost immediately.

I'd argue the Ronaldo signing and that entire project, with no covid, turns out differently and our current financial position is still connected to that covid collapse. We reached for the stars and the ladder beneath us immediately got kicked out by covid. What were we supposed to do?

It was ambitious but the timing proved to be awful and we have been dealing with the aftermath since.

Only morons thought Ronaldo was a good gamble, the money should've been invested in 3 WC players in different positions (especially midfielders and wingers at that time), and then even the already declining Allegri could still have a bigger chance to win CL at that time.
