And De Jong is more a Winger then a Wingback. He stays more in attack then in defense. I am looking at my Panini Sticker Album of the WC to watch out what defender have been there. Some Names that could be interesting:

Fabio Coloccini (I always liked him)
Bocanegra (USA) Did a good WC
Cicinho (BRA) Would be cheap with the prob at Real Madrid
Philipp Degen (SUI) I dont like him but i have to be honest-he is a good wingback
But the solution for our Probs can be: Valon Behrami (SUI) If he will be back of his injuries he will be very very good and powerful. But he is also very offensive.

When someone -rep me for saying Balza is sh*t, at least he can say who he is.

Balza is just an average player, and he is indeed the weakest link in our defense, he is overrated just because he is a Juve player.

I don´t see nothing in this guy, he can be a solid sub.

Chiellini is much more promising and talented.

Abidal, una roccia per la Juve

Arriva dalla Francia l'ultima voce di mercato che interessa la Juventus. Secondo i media francesi, la società bianconera avrebbe mostrato il proprio interesse per Eric Abidal, roccioso difensore del Lione e da tempo punto fermo della Nazionale di Raymond Domenech.

Il 26enne difensore è una dei migliori difensori del calcio francese. Non ci sono dubbi sulle sue doti fisiche (180 cm per 77 kg) alle quali abbina anche un discreto trattamento del pallone. Insomma è un difensore moderno che gioca sulla fascia sinistra ma all'occorrenza può essere schierato anche al centro.

Abidal ha debuttato nel 2001 in Premiere Division con la maglia del Monaco ma nel Principato aveva poche possibilità di giocare e si è trasferito al Lille dove ha collezionato ben 27 presenze. Dopo una seconda stagione di alto livello al Lille, Abidal è passato nel giugno del 2004 alll’Olympique Lione dopo aver firmato un contratto quadriennale.

Al Lione, Abidal è diventato subito uno dei punti fermi di una squadra che in Francia pare come sempre un rullo compressore e in Europa ha già conquistato il passaggio agli ottavi di finale di Champions League con due turni di anticipo.

Non sarà facile strapparlo alla società francese che ha pagato 7 milioni di euro per acquistarlo alla concorrenza del Psg. Il suo contratto scade nel 2008 e per portarlo a Torino ci vogliono 15 milioni, come ha confermato il procuratore del giocatore Oscar Damiani.

"Abidal ha il contratto in scadenza nel 2008 e potrebbe prolungare con il Lione come lasciare il club a fine stagione - ha detto Damiani - Comunque in questo momento è troppo presto per fare ipotesi.
