i wish chivu was italian, that would be sweet.

not that african players are not good enough, its just what the club needs. Eto'o is great, but i think our forwards are well set and he isnt needed.

Essien? i cant see him take out emerson or vieira...so once again, i dont see a need to mention him either.

Toure from what i have seen looks very promising. Back up to Vieira is required next season as Giannichedda and the hopeless Blasi are not good enough. His price tag is a worry though. an 8 million euro back up to Vieira seems a lil expensive in todays market and overall football business.

If his price could be reduced, which im sure Moggi could do buy opffering other players and loaning some others, then this would be great.

it baffles me why people think Africa is a single country. It's a a freakin huge ass continent people. It's like saying no North American players are good emough for Juve's first eleven (which is true btw). Africa will dominate someday, you shall see. Blatter's already thinking about putting more african nations for the 2010 world cup. Here's to that happening...

Well said: What has come of this once amusing and thoughtful web-site? It is increasingly becoming the den of the ignorant, foul-mouthed and down-right bigoted/rasist. these attacks on my senses: by langauge, visual representaions of femals as sex objects (avatar), open hostility to people of a different skin/creed/gender are truly begining to bring my many years of visiting here to an end.
I ask once again if those reponsible for the running of this site can be more on hands, or at least provide a section where, we of a uncertain type, can freely go without insult to our being?

Oh, and by the way, where was Patrick Vieira born?
I agree with some of what u said, the problem is Marty I am afraid, and the mods simply doesn't give fuck about anything :disagree:

Chelsea Eye Toure Premiership champions Chelsea have joined Lyon, Juventus and Arsenal in considering making a bid for Olympiacos midfielder Yaya Toure.

The 22-year-old, on international duty with Ivory Coast at the African Nations Cup, is the brother of Arsenal’s Kolo, and has been characterized by his international team-mate Didier Drogba as the new Patrick Vieira.

“Yaya Toure is the new Vieira. He has exactly the same body type, is tall and strong and has great technique. I have spoken to Jose [Mourinho] about him.” Drogba said of Toure.

The young Ivorian played down the link, mentioning that he prefers North London to Mourinho’s squad.

“Although it is great to hear Didier talk about me in this way, it is difficult to beat playing alongside your brother.”

According to Eurosport and France Football, the young midfielder is considered among the top young players worldwide alongside Lionel Messi and Freddie Adu.

It seems Toure got some big attention now and he wants Arsenal

Wooooow... I didn`t mean it to sound racist..
I just said that players from Africa has never been Juve material ofcourse there are exceptions here and there but it doesn`t happens very often...!
I can say that Israeli or other Asian players are not good enough for Juve too so am I an Anti Israeli?!
I can assure you I AM NOT ANTI MYSELF...
The only racist thing that may be in me is that I`m not that crazy about Russians cause I don`t really like them but ofcourse I won`t curse them or say some racist remarks against them!
I also not crazy about Arabics but that is not all of them.. only the ones who want to kill us... so I don`t think the will to survive is racist...!

He comes from Sen-e-gal,
He plays for Ars-e-nal...
used to be quite popular in Highbury. Guys, could we get the topic off racism and just discuss the topic at hand.

Touré's a good defender, but it's not quite clear whether he's Juve quality yet. He had one great season and one average one - tells us very little.

Juve set sights on ‘new Vieira’ Thursday 2 February, 2006

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus are contemplating a move for Ivory Coast international Yaya Touré, according to reports in Italy.

The combative midfielder has won over numerous admirers after a series of fine displays in the African Cup of Nations, with Chelsea and Arsenal among them.

Touré’s international teammate Didier Drogba has already reported back to manager José Mourinho with a favourable account of the player, whom he likens to Patrick Vieira.

"He is the new Vieira," said Drogba recently. "He even has the same body shape as him, as well as a similar game."

The 22-year-old, though, is said to be keen on a move to Arsenal, where he would team up with his brother Kolo.

"I am flattered by the interest that Chelsea have shown, but it would be pretty hard to beat playing alongside your brother," said the Olympiakos player recently.

Arsenal have only recently bought Auxerre midfielder Vasiriki Abou Diaby, however, and might be reluctant to invest in yet another young midfielder, even if they are still struggling to come to terms with the loss of the man to whom Touré has been compared.

Juventus, on the other hand, are interested in grooming Touré to become the successor to the Frenchman.
