Juventus are looking at the African Cup of Nations for possible additions.

Reports emanating from Italy claim the Bianconeri are casting an eye over Ivory Coast's Yaya Toure and Morocco's Marouane Chamakh.

Toure is regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Europe after a number of impressive performances for Olympiakos in this season's UEFA Champions League.

Lyon, Arsenal and Manchester United have all been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old and now Juventus have joined the chase for his signature.

Olympiakos know they face a fight to hold onto the powerful midfielder and there are expected to be moves made for Toure in the summer.

Chamakh has earned rave reviews for Bordeaux in the last couple of seasons with his goalscoring exploits.

Juventus are thought to have been alerted to Chamakh after he impressed for Morocco in this month's African Cup of Nations.

Fabio Capello is expected to monitor both players' progress in the next few months before deciding whether or not to follow up his interest in the summer.

Never really seen Weah at his peak so I won`t comment on him but I`m not a big fan of Eto and I don`t think he is a Juve material!
But as I said before there are some exceptions like Vieira and some others!
eto'o is better than any juventus attacker atm.

I would not agree with that. With the support Eto'o has behind him everyone would score many goals.
Be realistic now! Eto'o has great service but he does his job damn well & can put the ball away from almost any angle.

Remember that he didn't even have 1/10 of the quality assists at Mallorca as he currently has at Barca, but still that didn't stop him from being Mallorca's top goal scorer!

Juve set sights on 'new Vieira’

Thursday 2 February, 2006

Juventus are contemplating a move for Ivory Coast international Yaya Touré, according to reports in Italy.

The combative midfielder has won over numerous admirers after a series of fine displays in the African Cup of Nations, with Chelsea and Arsenal among them.

Touré’s international teammate Didier Drogba has already reported back to manager José Mourinho with a favourable account of the player, whom he likens to Patrick Vieira.

"He is the new Vieira," said Drogba recently. "He even has the same body shape as him, as well as a similar game."

The 22-year-old, though, is said to be keen on a move to Arsenal, where he would team up with his brother Kolo.

"I am flattered by the interest that Chelsea have shown, but it would be pretty hard to beat playing alongside your brother," said the Olympiakos player recently.

Arsenal have only recently bought Auxerre midfielder Vasiriki Abou Diaby, however, and might be reluctant to invest in yet another young midfielder, even if they are still struggling to come to terms with the loss of the man to whom Touré has been compared.

Juventus, on the other hand, are interested in grooming Touré to become the successor to the Frenchman.

Toure would be a hella Nab....also the moroccan Chamakh is a rising star....

Really?!! I think he's overrated personally...or maybe because I only watched him against Egypt...and we pretty much swept the floor with his young ass. :smoke:

I would love to see Abu Treika in Turin.

This is your opinion and this is mine..
anyway I didn`t mean to sound racist as I explained myself earlier
now lets get back on topic
From what you and the press say about them I think that only Toure has the great potential

My Brother Better Than Me - Toure Arsenal defender Kolo Toure has sent a clear message to manager Arsene Wenger from the African Cup of Nations in Egypt: sign my brother.
Foto articolo

Yaya Toure has won many plaudits for his performances in the Olympiakos midfield this season, with the likes of Juventus and Chelsea linked.

"He has great ability," Kolo Toure told Sky Sports. "When I watch him he looks like Patrick. He is a tall player, has great ability and he can help the club.

"He is a better player [than me], he is a midfielder and has great ability. He is fantastic.

"It would be fantastic, my brother and me."
