How is that comical, Square? He may not be the best centre back in the world, but he's undoubtedly one of them, with only the likes of Nesta, Maldini and Puyol ahead of him right now. When on form Stam and Chivu are about as good imo, but Samuel is still an exceptional player.

Roma need to sell, and we need to get defenders, so why not Samuel? Believe me, I hate Roma just as much as any of you people on this forum, but that doesn't stop me from seeing that Samuel, Chivu, Mancini, Totti and Cassano are brilliant players.

The likelyness of this happening is very remote, but if there was half a chance that we could swoop in for Samuel we'd have to give it a shot. Imagine having Samuel and Mexes or Ferrari in central defence next season? Our backline would be just as good as Milan's, and younger!

As for Cavenaghi, he definitely seems like something special for the future, but would you be content to rely on such a young prospect to lead your attack? At Parma or Chievo maybe, but not Juventus. We would have to loan him out for a season or two first.

Negative, no loan deals. If you want a player to be your star you have to treat him accordingly IMO. Loan deals only ruin player's careers because they feel misled about coming to the club in the first place. Milan monitored Kaka until they thought he was ready and once they decided he was, they put him in the squad and see what happened.

When did we ever have a loan deal that really paid off? Zalayeta? Pericard? Guzman? Rigoni? Blasi? Brighi? Mirante? The only two that I can think of are Maresca (Perugia not Bologna) and Gasbarroni. And you can't do that with Cavenaghi, you cannot sign a player for €10m and loan him out, it's absurd.

You count Gasbarroni as a good one? He's yet to play a minute in Serie A. Well, Zala' acquired spanish passport during his Sevilla-days :D

And as for topic - I'd love to see Samuel in b'n'w and Moggi is the one to get that type of deal done if someone. But there's that Roma-side in it which would do anything to prevent his Turin-switch.

Gasbarroni's been playing very well in Serie B, though. All of the other loan deals have seen our players play like crap for the team that they're loaned to, and thus we don't want them back...

Still I don't see Gasbarroni as a first-squad-player for Juve b/c of his missing Serie A minutes. But yes, it seems like players have been loaned to where-ever and they are not getting proper playing time.

He has a lot of experience playing in Serie B, and the style of play is similar, so I don't think that the transition will be too tough for him. I certainly hope that he come back next year to displace Camo from the squad.

Yes, I want him to be in the squad next season too but if he's to be the first choice winger then I'd feel "bit" uncomfortable. And I still doubt his changes to break into first squad considering our management's history.

I hope that he's put in the squad and given the chance to compete for hte starting spot. If that happens, I think that he'll beat Camo easily.

well, trez is leaving for sure. And it seems that di vaio is staying. so if cavenaghi joins, he is going to be either starting or back up to di vaio. As we know, di vaio wastes chances like no tomorrow and isnt a great striker. So Cavenaghi will get his chance if at the club. And i believe he will bench di vaio within the first half the season if he did join.

whats the point of loaning a player like Cavenaghi? we loaned out guzman, the man they called the next recoba, and believe me, he had some talent. they loaned out many more young starlets and yet, the chances of them coming back and being something at the club is like 1 in 15.

juve's always praised for buying the best young talent and so on, but they never play for us. i'm sick of it to be honest. if they are going to be loaned out and never returned, just dont buy the players. we are ruining careers. put the money towards an established player at least.
