Don't get fucking carried away with what you see in these matches. If you think these sort of performances are a genuine reflection of what we'll see throughout Serie A, you have not been following this stuff long enough.

Logic, trends, and common sense usually win out in the end.

Even If we'll sign someone for LW (or play Vucinic there) Krasic looks very bad in in 4-3-3.

ps. btw, where can I see stat's for milan game? I'm interesting in ball possession time. With inter it was 11mins(Juve) vs 8mins(inter).

I think it's this Sunday, at around 20:00CET.

We looked ok out there last night, though that 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 hybrid looked a bit off at times, mainly due to chaos in midfield. Vidal didn't really look very fit yet and him playing behind the striker was a bit weird. I'm looking forward to Milan-Juventus.

Yup. It's been a while since we've seen a team able to pass their way out of defense, going forward. I'm not getting too excited, but it's a start, I guess.

Still, Vidal that far up seemed a bit too weird for me. I'm not very familiar with how he usually plays, but I figured he'd be more of a CM/DM. If we are to play like we did against Milan, we need a proper DM to sit next to Pirlo, that would kick ass, as Vidal can roam freely. Still, we'll most likely see a 442 against Milan on Sunday.

Here's hoping for this though:

Buffon
Licht-Bonucci-Chiello-PDC
Marchi/Paz-Pirlo-Vidal
Krasic-Matri-Vucinic

I'm assuming Quag is still injured and Chiello will be fit, as I'm not really aware of their current situation.

I wouldn't mind seeing Vidal next to Marchisio/Pazienza. Will make it easier for him if he doesn't have to worry tactically at this early stage. And besides, Pirlo doesn't need much practice games - he already knows what's going on.

Vidal scored and provided an assist but I think he's better at going forward than defending..haven't seen enough of him yet to judge though.

Our main problem once again was our defence especially from set pieces, Bonucci needs to go he's shite. If we were to sign Alex and a good LW i'd say our chances will rise from 5th place to 3rd/2nd

Where was this type of post when everyone slagged the team off after Saturday?

This is not a dig at you Andy but when we're bad the atmosphere in here is totally different.

Bonucci has done nothing so far to prove that he deserves an automatic place in the first team, Ken. Neither has done Barzagli, so we badly need a better partner to Chiellini in defence. Hopefully, Marotta manages to wrap a deal for either Lugano or Alex.

Of course it is. It has to be. We are usually expected to win (contrast that to always expected to win pre-calciopoli). Hence when we lose, the criticism is harsh and severe; it's only natural.

However, people sounding overly optimistic after a couple of decent performances in some meaningless Mickey Mouse tournament is ridiculous.

The operative word here should be "cautious optimism."
