Category: General

Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli assures they can challenge for a top four finish in their first season back in Serie A, but refuses to confirm Gigi Buffon.

“To talk about the Scudetto immediately would be presumptuous, especially as you always need a bit of luck to win the League. In any case, we will certainly turn up the pressure on the top teams,” said the patron.

The Bianconeri are leading Serie B despite their nine-point Calciopoli penalty and are set for an immediate return to the top flight.

They have already strengthened their squad for next season with Zdenek Grygera of Ajax and Bayern Munich midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic snapped up on free transfers.

“Grygera and Salihamidzic are very significant signs of what we intend to achieve. Qualification for the Champions League will be one of our targets.”

However, question marks remain over whether star players David Trezeguet, Mauro Camoranesi and Buffon will agree to stay on.

“Buffon is a free man, so he is free to express his thoughts and opinions. In any case, between us there remains a cordial rapport.

“Gigi, like all our other players, knows we are working on two things – a return to Serie A and a squad that will do well. This means it must be in a position to ensure our champions are enjoying their football,” added Cobolli Gigli.

Source: Channel 4

Of course. I don't think we can become immediately champions when we return to Serie A, but we'll certainly finish in the top 4.

its not realistic for us to win Seie A in our first season back anyway...its a good sign that our board is not naive abut our chances. However, with the right luck we might challenge strongly for the title

I think our chances to win the scudetto next season arent great, but possible. Top 4 is a good target for next season. If they really want to shoot for something high then finish top 2 and gain automatic entry into CL.

We have to win Lo Scudetto next season. This is our most important target since we're not qualified for CL.

Gigli dissapoints me once again.

to win lo scudetto next season, juve have to purchase a good diver(nedved is getting old)

n of course that wouldn't be such a great move since juve are trying to portray an image that proves juve is a clean club

Seriously, if we do win Scudetto next season, people would shut the hell up for at least 10 years :D

Legends would spread among footy fans in the whole world, like:
"Holly shit dude, d'you see that? Juventus fucked everyone up right after they came back eh. Respeeek..."

Dreaming's free, no? :D

Im not sure, but i think Milan did that in the 80's too.Demoted one season, and they won the scudetto the very first season they got back into serie A.
Nope, they got promoted to A and got relegated to B again the season they got back lol (this time pure results, they were just that bad). Seriously.

Ok, but to win Scudetto next year is surely difficult, but possible... :smoke:
Kaiser Slautren did it in Germany in the 90's I think, they got promoted and won the BundesLiga in their 1st year in it !

Its good to be realistic Cobolli, but you also should ambitious

ok i don't think we will win the serie a next season.
first of all we need to promote and then to build a strong squad. hopefully buffon will stay. and then we need 4 more good transfers. this will be difficult enough because we have no cl and not so much money etc.
i think it will take more than 1 year to fight for the scudetto.

Winning the scudetto next year would be better than winning the CL in a normal season. The whole world would look at Juve, this team would become legendary, we would shut all the haters up and the best thing: we would ruin Inters 100th birthday. Man, we would still be telling this story in 50 years to the children of our children.

But seriously, first we have to promote, then I want to see some important signings. A top 4 finish is all we can ask for. Inter is very strong now. It seems they found a good team mixture. Milan will invest money to be strong again. Roma have a team that is playing together for some time now. We have to build a team first, before we can go for the scudetto.
