We've lost Ferrari:
Roma win Ferrari race Thursday 1 July, 2004
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matteo Ferrari is on his way to Roma after the capital club practically agreed a fee with Parma.
The two sides are understood to have held talks yesterday where a deal was virtually ironed out.
Reports in Italy suggest that the Olimpico outfit will hand over £2m plus two promising youngsters.
One of those players is likely to be Under-21 international goalkeeper Carlo Zotti. The other may be defender Cesare Bovo who spent last season at Lecce.
Ferrari is known to be keen on a switch to the Giallorossi so that he can work with boss Cesare Prandelli again.
The latter, Parma Coach last term, has helped the 24-year-old develop into one of the country’s most promising central defenders.
Ferrari could also be joined in the Italian capital by his Euro 2004 teammate Simone Perrotta.
The Chievo star, also of interest to Inter, is wanted by the Giallorossi as a replacement for the Juve bound Emerson.
Roma are ready to offer £3.5m plus a player to the Bentegodi outfit in return for the services of the midfielder.
In other transfer news, Palermo have officially signed Bologna’s 22-year-old full-back Cristian Zaccardo in exchange for £1m and midfielder Vasile Valentin Nastase.
