We've lost Ferrari:

Roma win Ferrari race Thursday 1 July, 2004

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Matteo Ferrari is on his way to Roma after the capital club practically agreed a fee with Parma.

The two sides are understood to have held talks yesterday where a deal was virtually ironed out.

Reports in Italy suggest that the Olimpico outfit will hand over £2m plus two promising youngsters.

One of those players is likely to be Under-21 international goalkeeper Carlo Zotti. The other may be defender Cesare Bovo who spent last season at Lecce.

Ferrari is known to be keen on a switch to the Giallorossi so that he can work with boss Cesare Prandelli again.

The latter, Parma Coach last term, has helped the 24-year-old develop into one of the country’s most promising central defenders.

Ferrari could also be joined in the Italian capital by his Euro 2004 teammate Simone Perrotta.

The Chievo star, also of interest to Inter, is wanted by the Giallorossi as a replacement for the Juve bound Emerson.

Roma are ready to offer £3.5m plus a player to the Bentegodi outfit in return for the services of the midfielder.

In other transfer news, Palermo have officially signed Bologna’s 22-year-old full-back Cristian Zaccardo in exchange for £1m and midfielder Vasile Valentin Nastase.

Prandelli is gathering his boys. He will also get Gilardino I am sure.

But the price tag is kind of funny... £2m...

In two years Roma will sell him to Milan/Inter/Juventus for $20 million.

Even if he comes, I am afraid we will not see him play, with Trezeguet, DP, Miccoli and Di Vaio in the squad.
If Gila comes, then DV will leave, that's for sure... Hopefully we can clinch up Cannavaro for Di Vaio swap as channel4 claims...

Yes, my friend, my trust to Mr. Transfer Guru is slowly running out.

As for Kylie, I am optimistic that me and her can get something going on...

But Moggi is old maybe he'll retire soon?! nah, but really, I don't know what to think now if roma can buy classy players like Ferrari though everybody knows about their financial problems...But when will Kylie move to Azerbaidjan?! :D (did I even spell that correctly?!)

I will give Moggi another chance (this summer) to see if he can get some smart moves on the transfer market. Even if he doesn't buy too many players but our team is winning then I would conclude that it was a good strategy. If not though, I will start wanting him to leave. If we suck really bad, I will start a petition to fire him!

Yes, you got Azerbaidjan right :) you may or may not have "d" between "i" and "j".

I think that at the end of the day Kylie will prefer Australia, but it will all be clear after I find her email address, and we go out and stuff. Maybe she won't like me... :D

you still think that Ferrari isn't going to roma?!  Yes, we don't know the price yet, but probably it's pretty cheap because roma can't pay very much...

This is getting a bit ridiculous, losing our 'transfer targets' to a club that's probably going to sell the backbone of its team just to stay afloat :irritate: If Roma sign Gilardino, I'm gonna hurt somebody

He can end up in Roma, mainly cause Prandelli, but Im pretty sure As Rome has to pay far more than 4 million euros for him. As Sensi sold some of his shares for about 100 million euros and invested it into Roma + they sold Samuel, AS Roma is in better condition most people thinks.

What I find anoying is that on one day everybody calls Moggi a genius, and on the other everybody believes he is stupid enough not to buy Ferrari for 4 million euros (we offered about 6 million for him during the winter gap, when Parma was in worse condition).
