Juve prepare for clear-out
JUVENTUS have drawn up plans to sell seven of their biggest names if they are relegated to Serie B for their part in the Italian match-fixing scandal.
Club directors have resigned themselves to offloading the players, who all featured for Italy or France in Sunday's World Cup final in Berlin.
Faced with a massive drop in income, the Serie A champions have reluctantly conceded they will have to sell Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro, goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, winger Mauro Camoranesi and defender Gianluca Zambrotta.
France internationals Patrick Vieira, Lilian Thuram and David Trezeguet would also be put up for sale. A Juventus spokesman said: "The club will do what it has to do to ensure it's competitive, whatever the decision of the sporting tribunal in Rome."
Along with AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina, Juventus are accused of trying to influence the appointment and conduct of referees during their Serie A triumphs in 2004-05 and 2005-06.
