Category: General

Juventus defender Robert Kovac has been ruled out for the next month because of a knee injury.

The summer signing from Bayern Munich will be sidelined for four weeks after damaging a ligament in training.

Kovac, a free capture from the German giants, has impressed on the occasions when he has replaced Lilian Thuram or Fabio Cannavaro in the centre.

Juve boss Fabio Capello already had a few defensive worries ahead of Saturday’s trip to Palermo.

Gianluca Zambrotta is suspended and will therefore need replacing in the right-back role for the Stadio Barbera clash.

Capello will opt for Gianluca Pessotto or decide to use midfielder Manuele Blasi, linked with a move to Palermo, as full-back.

Cannavaro and Thuram will start in the centre, while Under-21 international Giorgio Chiellini will begin at left-back.

Source: Football Italia

Emergenza difesa: la Juve pronta a riprendersi Tudor
06 01 2006
La Juventus sarebbe pronta a riprendersi Igor Tudor dal prestito al Siena nel caso perdurasse l'emergenza in difesa dato che parecchi giocatori della retroguardia bianconera sono infortunati.

juve may bring back Tudor because of the injuiry of Kovac... not a bad idea

For the Palermo game the back-up defender will be Criscito.
I think Capello has enough faith in him (he was in the CL list last year) and the club won't buy/get any other defender.

He's a player of our primavera, 19 years old. Capello put him on our CL list both this and last year: it wouldn't surprise me if they used him, instead of buying another defender. In fact he is in Palermo with the team.
