Francesco Tavano’s brilliant season with the Tuscan side has attracted the attention of various teams, the latest of which is Juventus.

The 27-year-old has already scored 18 goals in Serie A this season and caught the eye of both Fiorentina and Inter. It will be highly unlikely that Tavano remains with Empoli this summer, with a move to Inter being the most probable.

However, according to media reports, the Bianconeri have already made an offer for the player and this might thwart Inter’s plans.

Francesco Tavano has been heavily linked with Fiorentina, but the Empoli hitman has hinted that he’d favour a move to Inter.

“Between Fiorentina and Inter, if it were up to me, I’d choose the Nerazzurri,” he told RAI programme 'Dribbling.’

“The club has grand objectives and, to be honest, I was an Inter fan when I was growing up,” added the 27-year-old striker.

Tavano has shot to fame this season with 18 Serie A goals in 34 appearances, proving decisive in keeping Empoli in the top flight.

He has been valued at around £8m and Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi has already confirmed he’ll sell him to the highest bidder in the summer.

There are rumours he could be drafted in to Italy’s World Cup squad and is likely to be among the players tested out in Marcello Lippi’s two-day get-together in early May.

We don't need another forward, to be honest. We already have as many as we need, add in Mutu to the mix and there's the possibility of even a surplus to requirements.

Until we fix the problems in the other parts of the team we should leave the forwards alone.

Actually we do need another striker. Imo its a must! Trezeguet is the only finisher we got and when he's injured we rarely score goals, unless Del Piero's on a brilliant form.

Lots of teams are dependent on only one pure finisher in the team, as far as support forwards go Del Piero is better than most at finishing, ditto Mutu. Zalayeta is as good as any fifth forward comes, and in Zlatan we have the coming of the next Messiah, don't we? :wink:

More importantly the lack of goals cannot be solely traced to our forwards...it'd be a whole lot easier if the problem were that simple. Its not just the midfield either, we have an inherent problem that makes scoring difficult for ourselves.

forwards are the least of the teams problems...we have great forwards. If Zalayeta leaves then replace him with a Palladino.

Spend money on midfield and defence, simple.

I think it's best to say one season he was Juve the next Milan....

But I doubt we can call him a liar or traitor...he was a JUVE fan, until the summer when he was heavily linked with us, but Juve opted fo Ibra on the last day. A slap in the face.

Ever since that day, he always stated how he wants to play infront of an 80,000 crowd.
