You're right, both Miguel and Zambrotta could play in midfield if necessary, as could Maicon, but it might be somewhat risky to have Miguel/Maicon at RB and Zambrotta at LB. They like to go forward and this could open us up at the back. Don't get me wrong though, I'd take Miguel or Maicon over Zebina any day of the week.

I was thinking, if we can get Chivu I would consider playing something like this:

Buffon
Thuram Cannavaro Chivu
Miguel/Maicon Emerson Nedved Zambrotta
Mutu Del Piero
Ibrahimovic/Trezeguet

or play Camoranesi or Blasi in the centre next to Emerson and Nedved behind two strikers with Mutu or DP being relegated to the bench.
