If Riquelme were to come..i dont see why Juve would play a 4-3-3 anyway.IMO a 4-4-2 diamond with Riquelme in the top of a 4 man midfield would be the way to go,He would be free of defensive duties and he would have freedom to roam. But IMO one of Almiron or Tiago has to be dropped then.It would be suicide to have them all in one midifeld.

Having said that,i dont think its a risk worth taking for a number of reasons.First theres a big chance he will fail,Secondly i dont think its worth dropping Almiron or Tiago,And third i think Tiago,Almiron and DP(if played) offer enough creativity.so whats the use anyway.

I dont think we could fit four of Almiron, Tiago, Neddy, Camo and Riq into a midfield.

If neddy and camo retain the wings, then Riq would only work if zannetti was olding, even then i would be hesitant. If tiago was introduced instead of Neddy/Camo it may work.

Even more reason to say Riq isnt coming and isnt needed.

He defenitly isnt needed.just an added luxury IMO..Theres nothing he can add that Tiago-Almiron wont bring to the table.

Exactly, he may have genius and vission, but the team work of Almiron and Tiago should more than make up for it.

After all the team would have to moulded around riq, where as the team can be a "team" without him.

i didnt say that Almiron alone will offer what Riq offers,i said that him and Tiago together could offer creativity and vision.

and what makes you think that?

how many empoli games have you seen.....I have seen few and I can say his level of creativity is same as Zanetti's IMO

And Tiago,he's good but he's not a playmaker.....

and bout consistency.....that has to be a joke. Zidane was incosistent too, very often but he give his best performances when it was needed.

enough to know that Almiron is much more creative than Zanetti..No offence but thats an ignorant statement..

Tiago isnt a playmaker,he's a box to box midfielder who has a good level of creativity...along with Almiron and DP if played they will offer more than enough creativity IMO.

Zidane was very consistent,he has been unarguably one of the worlds best player for the past 8-9 years, and he never choked when his team most needed him..the same cannot be said about Riquelme.

I like Riquelme better than Van der Vaart , he is a great player with vision, technique and a good shot but he has his drawbacks, he doesn't work for the team, the team has to be built around him and he is slow my grandfather probably is faster. My idea very good player if he has the time and a team that works like hell to accomodate him.

cmon weasley, the croate has right. Romy is in a far higher level. Thiago isnt creative and almiron is also a fighter and not someone who gives creativity. thiago is good, but we payed to much for him(idiot secco). he is overrated in this forum. Romy is a typical playmaker and after zidane i would say the best. and about inconsistence, he plays his game and sometimes you notice what he is doing for the team and sometimes you dont notice it. but he plays always the same fuking genuis football.

no offence but ppl who think riquelme isnt good enuf for juve esp since we dont have a pure playmaker in our midfield amaze me
i agree with everyone here on almiron....he has still to prove himself and i think he was a gamble the board should not have taken esp given the price we paid for him..would have rather spent a few more million on an internationally experienced midfielder

Riq is the shit but is inconsistent...however if he does become available then Juventus must go 4 him...IMO he is worth the risk

LOL

now I have to introduce my arsenal

first of all,get the SKY ITALY channels, second of all, give it a weekend to watch most of the games. Third, try to watch some of lower ranked teams playing against similliar opponents. Then you'll see why I claim that Almiron is creative just like Zanetti. And I remember Zanetti from his Roma days too.

Second of all, take a look at yesterdays game Argentina & USA....and there you'll see a bit of vision and magic, that both Tiago & Almiron can only dream of. Take a look at both Boca's games against Gremio, you'll see that magic again, and again it will be a dream for those two.

And for Zizou.....can I remember all of those years with Juve and against Juve in Cl when we(they) needed him? He had his moments,no doubt, but to call him a very consistant performer...not for me

Its quite difficult to mind bogginngly brilliant all the time. Zizou didnt choke however, merely gave a beat down to Matrix.

Beautiful thing about Riquelme is that he doesn't need to run in circles like a headless chicken to be effective. He has a, shall we say, unique playing style. And he definitely showed up for the Libertadores final, which is a "big game."

Unfortunately he is also inconsistent...like any other playmaker, really.
