By selling Trez, we should recieve about 25 million E's. So, we spend 9 million for VDV, as well as about 6 for Mexes and 6 for Ferrari. That leaves us 4 million at least, not including if someone like Tudor gets sold or is invloved in part of the deal to Ajax. To replace Trez, get Gilardino. How much would he cost, 6 million as well? I think VDV, Mexes, Ferrari, and Gilardino could all in theory be bought in the summer, that is if Trez gets sold for hopefully 27 million. Yeah, in theory, but unfortunatly, not in reality if we know Moggi.
Firstly, we're dealing with pounds here (admittedly, I had to double check myself too :D) and even in pounds, 9 million is NOT going to happen imo.

Secondly, lots of IFS there :frown:

well, its simple, if we are to bring in a young star such as van der vaart and others, we have to sell more than just trezeguet. this is why i think selling both trezeguet and nedved is the way to go rebuild the team.

I agree, but my guess is that Trez and Thuram are the ones who will leave in summer... We can get even £15M of Trez and £5M of Thuram...

I think that Moggi will buy Trabelsi, Mexes, Squillaci and Gilardino... Cavenaghi will come too, but he's going for loan in Parma... If we sell any others, maybe we can get a playmaker too, hopefully Rosicky... But sadly, that's just a dream...

I like better Snejder. Everytime I saw Ajax in action Snejder was always better than VDV. Does anybody here had the same impression?
Both are good IMO, but since VDV is tad more experienced, exposed and more marketable Ajax is most likely to sell him, no? And let Sneijder stay there. Don't think they'd sell both.

9 mil pounds is equivalent to.. 13/14 euros I think, not too sure. That's quite expensive in the market nowadays, but I think it's worth it provided that we do sell some of our players.

Well then, lets sell Tudor, Montero, and Di Vaio along with Trez. That should bring us at least 32 million Pounds or Euros or whatever......

It won't take alot of money to sure up the defence as Trabelsi is free, and none of Mexes, Ferrari or Squillaci cost 10m. Gila won't cost very much either so we would make a profit if we sold Trez and got him, leaving money which I would spend on either Pedretti (DM) or Diego (AM).

are you serious?

just 32 mil pounds of selling these players?

we would get for trez around 27 mil, about 5 mil for tudor, for di vaio about 10 mil, that's about 42 mil euros...

we could get gilardino, mexes and squillaci. ;)

I'd keep Di Vaio, but Thuram, Montero, Ferrara, Iuliano, Trezeguet, Zalayeta, Conte and possibly Pessotto should all be shown the door imo.

- Trabelsi for Thuram
- Mexes for Montero
- Ferrari/Squillaci for Ferrara
- let Tudor play in defence rather than Iuliano
- Gilardino for Trezeguet
- Kapo for Zalayeta
- Blasi/Brighi/Pedretti for Conte
- possibly Evra for Pessotto

It's alot of changes, but when you look at it it's not that much money as none of the players there cost 15m, and two of them (Trabelsi and Kapo) are free, same goes for Brighi/Blasi as they're returning from loan.

With 42m we could get an established playmaker like Rosicky or Van der Vaart, two or three young defenders, AND Gilardino, as well as Trabelsi who would come for free.

I'd love that, but I don't think Moggi will go for it, even if the money's not much...too many big changes for hm  it's annoying that we're so traditional and we've stuck with the old guard when they've looked rusty for a long time now.

trabelsi isnt free anymore. he extended his contract so he wouldnt go on a free.

as for the players suggested by Stuart, well, as much as i would like to see them all join and as much as i think we need such changes, i find it hard to believe that moggi will do this.

definately a right back and least two centre backs will be brought in. trabelsi, mexes, squillaci, ferrari...all names that every club in the world would welcome as a future core of defenders.

i seriously believe that montero, iuliano, thuram (money issues), Tudor (injury prone), pessotto, conte (retire), Camo (inconsistent), Nedved (money), Trez (money), DV (money & not good enough) should all leave for one reason or another. But realistically thinking, it wont happen.

Me personally, i would like to see all young players come in. start a new era, who cares if we dont win next season. Not being successful next season, but then being successful for many seasons after that is something that i would welcome at the club.

trabelsi, mexes, ferrari, squillaci, evra, van der vaart, pedretti, kapo, Zlatan and Cavenaghi would be the players i would bring into the club. huge drastic unrealistic changes, but after a season of seeing pathetic, dull, ignorant football from a club like juventus merits such a change.

in addition, i think its time moggi sold off loaned players who are obviously not going to be apart of juve's future. ie. olivera, guzman, brighi and many more.

Yep, good post Adrian. But I don't know if I could stand another season not winning anything. Even if those changes you stated would be made, there is still a feasable chance that at least one competition could be won.

I don't agree with Adrian! Moggi would ruin Juve, if he would sell Nedved and many more. You can't just buy some young-stars, and tell them to play a position.
Look at Kaka. Milan did that perfect. Although they knew that Kaka will be a future star, they still kept Rui Costa. Kaka had time to learn something about Italian football, and could step into the game, in a very comfortable way.
You have to have a good mixture of young stars and oldies, to let the young players develop. I wouldn't mind getting Van der Vaart, let him play the playmaker part, and put Nedved on the left. A quick change can ruin teams. --> Inter and Barcelona at the beginning of the season.
