I don't agree with Adrian! Moggi would ruin Juve, if he would sell Nedved and many more. You can't just buy some young-stars, and tell them to play a position.
Look at Kaka. Milan did that perfect. Although they knew that Kaka will be a future star, they still kept Rui Costa. Kaka had time to learn something about Italian football, and could step into the game, in a very comfortable way.
You have to have a good mixture of young stars and oldies, to let the young players develop. I wouldn't mind getting Van der Vaart, let him play the playmaker part, and put Nedved on the left. A quick change can ruin teams. --> Inter and Barcelona at the beginning of the season.
Agreed, we don't need that radical changes, let's just sell Trez and few others, then next year the same again etc...

only trez and a couple of fringe players need to be sold,if we plan this carefully we can end the summer by breaking even but having a better squad than before.

it would be a desirable scenario, but if moggi decides to spend for once then all the better:)
yeap, but just can't see that happening... we all know what Moggi is like, but in the long run, it's just reasonable... Moggi is fine, I don't blame him...

moggi will have decided the most important transfers before euro even starts.he's not the type who would buy a player just because he had a good tournament.
Yeah, he's more the type to buy players after they have one good season

I agree but we need to tell that to Moggi

I would keep everything more-or-less same......but get a replacement for trez and a RB,DC,RM and that would be it.....

sure, its good to have a mixture of young and oldies, just like milan has. however, many of our oldies are not good enough anymore whereas milan's oldies such as maldini, pancaro, cafu etc...seem to perform as well as they ever have. there is a difference.

what little changes can we make to imporve this team? be honest now. sure, i would love to keep nedved, i love the bloke. always have even before his juve days. but in the end, if we are going to fix this team up, getting 25 million euros off barca for trez isnt going to give us jackshit.

we are very lucky this season. we have been basically average all season and we still are third. you can say it is a one off season of bad performances or you can say that it's an end of an era where many players at the club are ready to move on or are not motivated anymore.

go through the squad, look at what a lot of the players have won at the club. besides the players who joined this season, all the others have won so much and it just seems that they lack the motivation that is needed.

to me, between old players who are not motivated and not good enough anymore, others who are inconsistant, others who are not just good enough....making minor changes can only seem like a disaster waiting to happen. Imagine if a repeat of this season occurs next time round...we will be in even more debt and many stars who we should be going for this season will be snapped up by the other big clubs while we suffer and cry as fans watching boring non-creative consistant football.

You have a point there, Adrian. But making radikal changes, is never good. And I would also sell Trez, but never Nedved. He is the one, who should leed the young generation into a new era. Del Piero the same. Montero can go, Ferrara has to stay. If we get Mexes, I wouldn't mind letting Iuliano, Legro and Tudor as back-up. Pessotto is past IMO, and should hang up his boots.

agreed, we're not inter, we don't do that radical changes every year...
I think that Thuram, Montero, Iuliano, Trez, Conte and Pessotto can be sold or otherwise leave, IF we can get good successors for them, like Trabelsi, Mexes, Gilardino Blasi/Brighi etc...

"DP and Nedved will lead our youngsters into new era", that's just brilliantly said...

As if Ajax want Tudor. Its not the way they do their transfers, any football fan knows that. When was the last time you recall Ajax making such a move??

I want to have Van der Vaart, and I think, that if the Crespo-Trez deal goes through, Moggi will buy a player, who can decide games on his own---> Van der Vaart!

I know you want him, I think pretty much everyone on the forum wants him but as long as Moggi holds on to that stupid offer that includes Tudor, we're not getting him.

I mean, it doesn't take an extremely devoted fan of Dutch football to know that the Ajax board won't even look at that ridiculous offer. What are they gonna do with Tudor? Please...!

Man, thats with Tudor is just a rumour! I think if we really get him, than we will give Ajax straight cash! All in all, I think Ajax is a club, which sell and not buy! So we can get him, if the money is okay!

I don't see why Ajax would not take Tudor as part of this deal. It's not as if Ajax (or any other Dutch team) has defenders to spare. Perhaps Koeman thinks that he can solve Tudor's fitness problems, and then it would be a good deal for Ajax.

Let's look at it another way, though. Manchester United are the only other major suitors involved here. VDV might want to go to Barcelona, but Laporta seems to be doing his best to ignore that. Manchester has been tabling bids that are extremely low (i.e. the Robben deal), so maybe our offer might be the best. I think that Ajax has to sell Raf because Sneijder is becoming impatient. He wants to play, but does not fit into the squad. Ajax face losing Sneijder to PSV or selling VDV to the highest bidder, and that may well be us.
