Agnelli Family Still Close To Juve

This was confirmed by John Elkann at the end of the board of directors meeting, where the Agnelli family will inject 104.8 million Euros to help the Bianconeri reclaim their throne among Europe's elite.

Good news for all Juve fans following yesterday's board of directors meeting, as John Elkann announced the intention of the Agnelli family of investing more liquidity into the club to rebuild the stadium, but more important to build a very competitive side.

"The 'family' has always been close to the club and has never denied its presence. What we did today is the tangible prove of how much we care about Juve.

"I don't know if Juventus will finish among the top four next season, in the meantime let's think about winning this league, also because the last two matches did not seem so easy."

John also spoke about the possibility of either him or his brother Lapo becoming the new Juventus President.

"Right now there's Cobolli Gigli, he's doing a good job, so let's leave him work, but for the future we shall see. I spoke with the players, explaining to them the plan and in all of them I saw an important response. They seemed satisfied; as a fan I hope that the most important ones remain."

In 2 or 3 seasons, I will be glad to see us challenging for a cl spot, and winning twice from Inter of course costing them the title.
Challenging for the scudetto right seems to be a bit unrealistic, new team, need to learn to play togheter, not the best coach in the world, he is ok, but good enough for seriea?

In the world? He is not of course, not even the best in Seria A,
Roma,Fiorentina and Milan have better coaches, probably Inter too, i wonder how the managers know DD isnt so popular within the fan's ranks,

am I the only one who thinks it is stupid to announce this. This will only drive up prices when teams hear how much money we have to spend. The only reason I can think of why they would do it is for stock prices but right now we are almost assured of being promoted so why do it, it isn't going to help us as much as being able to use that money as wisely as possible will help. To me it is just dumb but what do i know.

The Juventus of the future has born

The Juventus of the future has born: after the Board of Directors had approved the mid-term development plan, the chairman Giovanni Cobolli Gigli and the managing director Jean-Claude Blanc explained the operation to the press, after giving advanced information to the team.

Before the beginning of the training session, Cobolli Gigli, Blanc and the IFIL vice-chairman John Elkann talked to the group of Deschamps.
"We wanted to hold this meeting here in Vinovo - claimed the chairman - because we are a football company, and we wanted to give the team a first announcement. The players and the technical staff are our fortune, and they are cooperating with us to be back in the Serie A and to build the future. At the end, having heard our words, everybody was satisfied and cheered the speech of engineer Elkann. His presence has given this meeting a great value, and we can only thank him for that".

"That of today - added the managing director Blanc - is another important step of the journey we started nine months ago with the constitution of a new Board of Directors. We launched this new philosophy in the team managment, partnering young emerging talents with the big champions. This is a line we want to follow, even in the future, and we stake a lot on the work of the Young Sector, and on the new net of observers created last summer. We want to be competitive not only on a national level, but also on an international level. For this reason we want to confirm not only our top-notchers, but also Deschamps, who will be our coach for the next season too."

Deschamps: "positive signals from the company"

This is a good week for the whole Juventus, and above all for Didier Deschamps. On Tuesday the win against Treviso, which has lauched the Bianconeri still further, in addiction to the others' results. On Wednesday the Board of Directors approved the mid-term development plan and the capital increase, but also the re-engagement of Deschamps, as Jean-Claude Blanc personally announced.

The French technical commented on everything to Juventus Channel, not forgetting the next match on the calendar, on Monday against Triestina. He said: " What happened is definitely a positive signal. It is the confirmation that the Agnelli family, through john Elkann, want to build an even more competitive Juventus. This honours Elkann and the family, and gives everybody the wish to get ahead with the projects".

His re-engagement for next year as the coach of Juventus, for the French technical is something normal, a natural consequence of the good job he has done until now; he said: "it would have been a news if the Company decided to dismiss me... During these months I' ve never had from anybody negative signals which could have make me think differently".

Juventus is therefore launched in the future with the intention of being back leading in Serie A, and afterwards in Europe. To do so, Deschamps has his own recipe: "to be competitive we have to reinforce the team, but more than anything to keep our champions and believe in those who are fighting today for our aim. Those who are here, they feel well and want to remain here, so now it would be easier to find an agreement with them".

There is still time to think about the next league championship in Serie A. The work started has to be completed, and there is to conquer the promotion, first. For this reason everybody's mind is already with Triestina; Deschamps added: "Serie B is something unpleasant; it is a sacrifice for everyone and we have to try this is going to be for a year only. In these two days we worked softly, to let those who played on Tuesday recover. From Friday we start intensifying the training".

I'd take Didier over Ancelotti and Mancini any day of the week. He's also more merited than Mancini. CL finals are worth somewhat more than Coppa Italia's.
