To be honest, I never saw DP play for Padova before he came to us...Was he highly rated there?
DP only made 14 first team appearances for the Biancoscudatti, scoring one goal. It must have been the halo of light around the boys head that made everyone understand DP's potential.

at 6'2", he definately aint taking over del piero. juve wouldnt be the club to sign for right now...miccoli and possibly zlatan as well are young. trezeguet isnt old either. may be some time before this player even gets a chance.

we still have half of massimiliano vieri as well as davide chiumento, benjamin onuwachi and cipriani(i think),this guy will go down the well worn path of most if not all our youngsters:serie b loan, serie a mid-table club loan,co-ownership as part of bigger deal and finally leaving for a mediocre belgian club.

moggi signs every young star possible only to let them be in other deals or be co-owned for many years. its a pointless process and i dont think moggi has made any money by doing so. this player isnt needed unless moggi decides to fully sell sculli, cipriani, guzman, m.vieri, miccoli and whoever else he has kept on the books for way too long.

we dont got HALF of them, we got them 100%, there only at loan..!
about vieri, no he's not our anymore, we sold the rest of him to napoli...

and yes i think too that we ´have like 50 % of capriani...!

i dissagree, i think moggi is smart, and its good what he is doing... buying a young player we dont need, and using him i another transfer part, that cool...

about this volpato, he's only 17, i think he's gonna be a star in the future..!

i think it's good that we buy these youngsters and also loan them out coz they will never play in juve now. if they ever come out any good later on, we can use them. if they don't (which usually what happens), then sell 'em to some smaller clubs. after all, they were signed by juve so they must have some 'value'.

you see, this is a gamble and investment at the same time. unless they have something really extraordinary, they'll never break into first team!

Welcome to the forums rldyu ;)

I've always admired the courage of teams like Arsenal, in putting faith in youngsters like Fabregas, and even giving the likes of Gael Clichy a run in Champions League matches. I'm not saying we should replace the old guard with youngsterse, but you gotta tip your hat to teams who are willing to invest in youth and build great players from the ground up

    thx gray...

actually i agree w/ you. i like teams who get this youngster no one knows and turn him into great players. didn't juve do that w/ zidane, alex, inzaghi, ferrara, etc? that's one of the reason i liked juve, becoz they do believe in young players. but i guess that also depend on the coach.

btw, r u in sydney? i'm in sydney too. how unlucky are we to be in sydney? not being able to watch juve play in serie a....
