He is a regular for the Azzurri - no way in hell he's going to be a backup. I think Capello will change Zambrotta's position again, to right back. He already experimented with this in the last match of the season.

I dont see anything wrong with that, and no reason why Zambrotta couldn't hande it. He's right footed, so he'd have an easier time attacking from the right side.

Chiellini LB ,zambrotta to RB will be good . Zambrotta would be better than Zebina ( too many injuries + too many yellow cards) and more dynamic than pessotto .

Playing with italy against norway in midfield does not mean this Position is suitable for him in Juve.

Zambrotta could easily move over to the right side of defence to make room for Chiellini, but even if he doesn't, one season as Zambrotta's understudy won't ruin Chiellini.

So Chiellini should be LB and Zambro should play LM and that gives an oportunity to play with Nedved as AMLC next to Emo as DMC which will solve our lack of creativity.

Chiellini ‘rejects’ Juventus switch
Monday 6 June, 2005
Giorgio Chiellini has revealed that he wants to snub a return to Juventus in favour of remaining at Fiorentina.

The Italian champions have confirmed that they will "undoubtedly" buy the Viola’s share in the player after agreeing a co-ownership deal last summer.

But Chiellini, now an Italian international regular, would rather stay at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

"It is my desire to stay here," he told Fiorentina.it. "I’ll ask the club to find a way to keep me. Everything should be sorted out by the end of the month."

Chiellini would prefer to stay in Tuscany as he would be guaranteed first team football, rather than try to displace Gianluca Zambrotta in Turin.

He’s also keen to work under Cesare Prandelli, who is likely to be named as the new Fiorentina boss.

"Prandelli is a Coach who would be good for me," he added. "I don’t know him but a lot of people speak well of him, he knows how to improve youngsters."

Meanwhile, the Viola could also sign Matteo Ferrari from Roma if Prandelli is handed control of the team.

The defender performed expertly under Prandelli at Parma but struggled badly without him at Roma this season.

I think we should call him back although I strongly disagree with the idea of switching Zambro to the right and giving Chiellini an automatic first team spot on the left.

Fück him then! if he wanna be a smart ass like miccoli then imo SELL HIM!!

but, i can see his point, he is afride that he wont be first team regular! soo!

but, i hope Capello would swich zambro to a right back or move him as leftmidfielder! and then use chiellini as first team!

Chiellini wants first team play -- I can't blame him. I don't consider him a jerk for that the way Miccoli was a pain in the ass. Hopefully we'll find a way to make this work... we need to invest a little more in developing younger plays for the long-haul health of the team's future.

So how much can we get for our part of Miccoli, Maresca, and Chielini? 12 milion? Sell Tacchi and we have enough money to buy one quality midfielder to partner Emo.

i understand chiellini, in Florence he is a starter and also´part of the national team, but in Juve he is most probably the sub of zambrotta (the best LB in the world) and he knows that.

we will see what plans Cap and Moggi have..

Now what exactly has he said that merits this reaction?! Did he say anything unsavoury about Juve? No.. any of our players? No.. all he is saying is that he'd rather stay at Firentina and develop.. its a bloody sensible career decision and he should be applauded for it rather than wanting to take the money and bench warm for Rambo.

It's very smart for a young player to understand that it is better to play with a poor team then to warm the bench with a good team. Kapo clearly didn't get this for example. Seeing the problems we would get with fitting Chiellini in the team I think this is a good solution.
