Just wanted to clarify the following questions ..

How many Non - EU players are Italian teams allowed to have ?

How many Non - EU players do Juve have currently ? (im too lazy to count...and it would be nice if someone could list the non - EU players here)


When does the Czech Rep. become a part of the European Union ?

Ummm, yeah. I think so too. Anyways, most European players are considered EU, even Tudor I think. The Non EU players are non european players. Anyways, I dont think there's a fixed number, the rul is that you can only buy a non eu player if you sell one first.

You can have up to 6 non EU players. Holland and France are in the EU; Croatia and Czech Republic not yet if I remember correctly. Montero has been in Italy for the past 10 years so he has Italian citizenship, that leaves:

11-Pavel Nedved, M (Czech.Rep)
18-Stephen Appiah, M (Ghana)
5-Igor Tudor, D (Croatia)
24-Ruben Olivera, S (Uruguay)
25-Marcelo Zalayeta, S (Uruguay)

Remember at the start of the season we removed Salas so we could have a free non-eu spot for another player.

Yeah but right now he's on the books of River Plate. Hopefully he'll stay ;)

Anyway we don't really need any non-eu players; I personally prefer EU players as they suffer the jet lag far less obviously + they don't get any insane ideas of going for a whole month for the Rio carnival or go training on the beaches of Brazil to recover from injuries. And they also don't have that mid-league South American Cup.

Actually, Salas is on our books AFAIK, so he does take up a non eu space as long as he is on loan. Imagine this: We loan out Salas, get a non Eu place and buy, say, Grygera. then, a year later, we decide to bring back Salas from loan. The FIGC cant stop you bringing back your onw player, and we'd have 7 non eu players.

What I want to know is do the Primavera players come into this, as we do have quite a few non eu players there.

Nedved and Tudor both have EU status afaik.

exactly. we can, and we dont have to register them to let them play in the CL.


btw, Do primavera players have professional contracts?

I think they do... btw, I think we do have to register them, there is an A and a B list for the CL.

The Czech I think in the next 12 months, while Croatia wond be in it until 2008 the earliest.

Martin bu they're not in the EU yet so they still count as non-EU as far as I know. Maybe you mean they have Italian citizneships cos they have been playing in Italy for a long time now? :confused:
