We give the player and this deal so much importance with multiple bids that his price eventually goes up even more than it started at. Just close the deal if you want the player, and your for has asked for it. Or quit wasting time and go and sign Soriano so the team can work in peace.

every year is like this. ENOUGH JUVE! We deserve a top star NOW!
It is flat out frustrating. Our rivals spend more on individual stars, and we're a bigger club.

Imagine if Juventus were to combined Marotta's thriftiness with a willingness to spend money when it matters. Low balling is good when you have leverage, Marotta has none, yet he still approaches with stupid offers. It is literally the same thing as trying to order oil at 20 bucks lower than the current spot price. If there is no leverage, global football is so competitive that a bid is futile unless competitive.

That is exactly what he does. He's an options trader in the pit yelling out ridiculously low buy orders and all the other traders just ignore or laugh at him. It's like he does it purposely just to piss people off.
