The price is fair but Schalke probably still think he is worth €35m. Unless Bayern were buying, then they'd accept €10m + bonuses and drive him to Munich.

Marotta tinkering at the edges of an unrealistic 1st bid is hardly going to set the pulses racing in Gelsenkirchen.

Another €5m is needed if they want to bring this to closure.
You'd think we'd be able to sell someone to raise that extra 5 million.

If it were up to me, both Draxler and Gotze would be coming in and I'd be pursuing much more aggressively.

I would sell Caceres (5), Llorente (8), Coman (20).

We clearly have enough strikers, and Gotze can play as a secondary striker, and Draxler can play as an inside forward like Coman. There is nothing lost there.

As for Caceres, you already have a multiple CBs, but I would look to buy a low budget guy to fill in - a guy you can pay very little because when all the injuries are better, it is also a position of strength.

At CB you have Bonucci, Rugani, Barzagli and Chiellini. I am sure you can bring in a cheap player from a provincial team on loan to add extra insurance while the injuries are a problem.
At RB you have Lichtsteiner, Isla, and Andreas Tello.

As for Isla, I would totally keep him. He is younger than Licht and if given the opportunity, maybe he can replicate his Udinese form at Juventus.

Do you think we can't offer €5m more? Of course we can, we just don't want to. We negotiate towards what we want to pay for a player, and then move on if we don't agree with it.

5 million is really a rounding error in the long run. Sometimes you have to pony up the extra cash. If Draxler was 100% fit last year, he'd cost 50.
and if he has another year like the last one je is worth 10 ^^.
having said that, i have a weak spot for draxler so i say: just pay the money :agree:

We can't rely on Barzagli as he'll have multiple injuries over the season, and while also capable of playing RB and LB, I think Caceres is a keeper. If we're to sell him we shouldn't accept anything under €15m. Arsenal and others have been rumored interested and their pockets are deep enough to raise €15m, also due to his age.

As for Coman, I think we should consider trading him with Bayern if it makes way for Götze. If the €40-50m Götze can be reduced to maybe €25-30m + Coman id do it.

Llorente must be sold, as appearantly Max 'I needed someone tall' Allegri still likes to field him while completely useless when given the chance. Not to mention his goal ratio! Scoring every 160 minute or something..
