They probably want to buy a replacement before the start of the season. They aren't doing anything wrong, just good business.
I agree. It makes perfect sense. The deal is already in an advanced stage and there is no need to drag it any longer. They are willing to sell, player agreed on terms, funds available. Just do it Beppe

No reason to not have hope. Plenty of reasons to turn off the ADD and be patient.
Tbh I lost hope the moment Heldt came out and said no more talks. The more we wait the harder and more expensive it will be to get him anyway.

Does unrealistic names count???
I would prefer to avoid those. We can't land a youngster like Draxler yet we're connected to City's Silva  I'd prefer we don't waste our time :)

Seriously, you look crazy.

I've seen nobody say we are doomed, call management inept or anything like that, maybe apart from 1 or another guy.
.
What?

A ton of people have said this mercato has been an absolute disaster and Marotta is incompetent. It's not just 1 or another guy. It's their narrative, it was like this last summer, and as soon as the Vidal rumours started popping up, it happened this summer. And the number of people that have gone full 180 on Pirlo and now seem to think he was one of the best players in our squad last season is pretty much hilarious.

Calling me crazy. You must be crazy, or blind, if you've been reading the same nonsense I have and haven't noticed the dramatic overreaction to this mercato. The number of people who have said that if we don't get a top AM like Gotze or Isco, this mercato is a disaster, well that number isn't small.

And yes, there are also people rationally worried about replacing Vidal and Tevez. That's perfectly fine. I'm worried about replacing Vidal and Tevez. Not as worried as others, as even if Dybala and Khedira aren't on the same level, they'll keep us very competitive, and adding Mandzukic rounds out our forwards nicely. Our midfield has a wealth of options, and even if our strongest XI is slightly weaker this year, we have much better depth with a more fully integrated Sturaro, and a more experienced Pereyra. Our backline hasn't changed at all, except reinforcing it with a potential world class defender in Rugani.

As I said, there's absolutely no reason for people to have anything but faith in our management, and the fact that a very high proportion of their moves have been excellent over the last 4 years. If that trend continues this summer, we'll be just fine.

There is a big difference in saying that they deserve the benefit of the doubt and stating that they are untouchable.

Unless you expect them to get it right every single time, and no club anywhere in the world at any point in the history of football gets it right all the time

This. I haven't once said that our management is infallible. They make mistakes, of course. But the proportion of good/excellent transfers to poor transfers is fantastic, they've been on of the best management teams in football for the last 4 years. It's just beyond me that anyone wouldn't have faith that they'll do their job well. All evidence points in that direction.

so if they don't get it right they don't deserve criticism based on past results? common this is why arsenal have been so content on their recent achievements (lack of them) because they still keep talking about the invincible year. Credit when it is due and criticism when it is warranted, but to see people defend and justify every single move marotta makes is just ridiculous regardless of history

(...) He is very talented. I read somebody sum it up quite nicely, it went like this:
Almost as fast as Reus, almost as technically brilliant as Özil, almost as smart as Müller, almost as dangerous as Götze. That phrase has its flaws, but it makes a good point. He's got everything you need for that position. (...)

Sounds like German Marchisio. :D

Who is saying they don't deserve criticism? Where did I say that they don't deserve it?

Where did you even get that from? And you know what is just as bad? People looking for something to criticize even when good to great moves are made. So those people with that kind of agenda are just as guilty.

Fuck, this forum has gotten progressively worse as time goes on. You can't even have a good debate anymore without being typecast as being on one side or the other. I miss the old days so much in this place.

It's called waiting to see how these moves turn out. Who the fuck knows how these moves will turn out. If Dybala turns into the next Aguero or even Messi, and Juve wins a couple CL, we'll all be laughing at Vidal for taking off. If Vidal never regains his top form for Bayern and is a mid-level player for the rest of his career we'll be laughing at how we stole 40 mil for a washed up player.

If Vidal turns back into a monster, and Dybala flops and Khedira flops and we have a disastrous few seasons he'll get fired and all criticism shall be warranted.

We have no idea how any of this will turn out yet.

The point is, don't criticize the mercato and call it a disaster preemptively, or you may end up looking incredibly stupid not too far down the road. Wait a few months to see how the rejuvenated team is doing.

It doesn't get more rational than this. You are spot on! :applause:

It is pointless and irrational to judge a team's present/future without some official games , just keep your calm guys and wait at least untill we win the Supercoppa to make an oppinion ;)
