We're not ahead of Bayern Munich in net spend.
We're 9th placed. That means, purely by monetary terms, we overachieve every time we reach the quartefinals of the CL.
Gotta consider salaries too.
But yes, apart from Madrid/Barcelona/Bayern/Chelsea/United/Arsenal/City/PSG, we have the most resources to work with in the world. I believe even with the new EPL deal, I don't think Tottenham revenue will be bigger than ours. No way.
So yes, we are the 9th most rich/economically potent club in the world. Gotta do a hell of a job to keep between the 4 every other year.

You're missing the point here. Until our management $#@!s up and we have an awful season... they have earned our trust and faith. 4 straight scudetti, a CL QF, an EL SF, a CL final, and our first Coppa in 20 years. People doubting them and calling this mercato at disaster at this point are fools. We have no idea how our new signings will turn out. Even Zaza could become a world-beater for all anyone knows. He certainly has the drive and fire for it. Unlikely, sure, but stranger things have happened.
The point is, people need to chill on this barrage of pathetic doomsaying about our future. Our management has succeeded beyond anything that could ever have been expected 4 years ago, they've made brilliant signing after brilliant signing, they've hired the perfect coaches at the perfect times... they've been by far the best management team in all of Europe considering where we were coming from. It's fine to be a little worried about the loss of Vidal and Tevez, but to call our management inept, or to scream doom, is so unbelievably $#@!ing stupid at this point in time.
Seriously, you look crazy.
I've seen nobody say we are doomed, call management inept or anything like that, maybe apart from 1 or another guy.
What a lot of people is doing is simply judging the mercato moves, separately, regardless of who does them. It's a judgement that can be made in any separate deal.
For example, do I complain about the Isla experiment fail?? Hell no!! I was with Marotta on that one, it seemed the perfect player for Conte's 352, a world class to be rwb who would also offer an option as rw, rb, rm and cm.
So people judge according to the context of the moment of the move. History will tell if it worked or not, if Marotta was right or wrong and if the poster fucked it up or not.
And you have to understand, in 4 years it's the first time we lose important starters of the team. Guys we wanted to keep. Pirlo is OK to me, it was time to go. Tevez didn't left Marotta much choice. But Vidal going, the way he went, just seems wrong.
So it's normal people complain. It doesn't mean Marotta is the devil, while he's not God either. But of course, he's been doing a great job so far, overall. Let's see what happens this season. But I just can't agree on selling Vidal and paying 18M for the backup of the backup, when you need money for an AM and a fullback.
