Well we're clearly ahead of many top clubs out there in our spending, if anything that stats actually prove my point not the other way around.

We're ahead of the likes of Bayern Munich and arsenal who are both constantly among last 16 in the CL. Some here try to paint a picture as if we're hardly spent much in the past years which is simply wrong.

Plus I've clearly said we're nowhere near the likes of City, madrid or PSG when it comes to spending but still we've constantly spend quiet a big sum in the market.
We're not ahead of Bayern Munich in net spend.

We're 9th placed. That means, purely by monetary terms, we overachieve every time we reach the quartefinals of the CL.

I think that in order to get a good idea of the spending in the last 5 years, I feel that the first two years are where we need to focus on, as a lot of money, more than what you would expect a Juventus to spend, play a huge factor into that. And consider that I don't believe that any of the other clubs had to rebuild from 7th place finishes, at least without the help of oil money or foreign investors.

@JuveJay is there somewhere we can look to focus on the 2010/11 and 11/12 seasons for total and net spending? I would be willing to bet that a large portion of those funds were concentrated on those two season.

Oh,nevermind, I didn't realize there was an attachment

And in regards to being ahead of the likes of Bayern Munich, I have consistently given my theory that their model is the one that Juve is striving to emulate, and as you can see from that attachment, it makes perfect sense as to why they would want to do that.

Try on Juve's official site, under the section Investors you can find financial reports for those particular seasons. I'd guess somewhere between 90-110 pg could be data that interests you.

I hear this from time to time so I thought I would in fact look at the numbers over '5-6 years' (2010-11 to this season).

Source is transfermarkt.it, as it is fairly concise and easy to compare across all the big European teams.

See attachment.

Top spenders
1. Manchester City €638.25m
2. Chelsea €622.25m
3. Liverpool €548.67m
4. Manchester United €534.86m
5. Real Madrid €533m
6. PSG €479.55m
7. Barcelona €479m
8. Juventus €405m
9. Roma €338.48m
10. Bayern Munich €332.5m
11. Arsenal €327.6m
12. Tottenham €307.05m
13. Internazionale €294.44m
14. Milan €269.35m

Top net spenders
1. Manchester City €498.49m
2. Manchester United €421.12m
3. PSG €415.8m
4. Chelsea €276.23m
5. Barcelona €262.95m
6. Real Madrid €253m
7. Liverpool €208.05m
8. Bayern Munich €191.3m
9. Juventus €174.42m
10. Arsenal €127.52m
11. Roma €92.87m
12. Milan €73.33m
13. Internazionale €58.12
14. Tottenham -€34.37m

Basically we are barely hanging on the edge of the market as far as the elite clubs go. We had that one splurge of a season where Exor funded a push to retrieve us from the abyss of mediocrity, and since then we have been very shrewd.

Then you have the whole issue of salaries, we are around 8th-9th place yearly in terms of that.

So really unless you are looking at solely what we have spent in the transfer market 'top 10' we aren't "constantly one of the biggest spenders in Europe", that is simply a myth.

I'll update this when the window closes.
Great post and point

could someone please translate? google translator didn´t do that well this time:
July 31: If you want to dominate the championship, Julian Draxler patiently have to wait! The Juve continues to work on Draxler, other contacts in the last hours, is quietly confident to deal with them capo.La Juve goes on to the bitter end and feels he can close the operazione.Non afraid to stay with the match in mano.Ripeto: Juve fiduciosa.Questo have warned you, this I know, this carryover .Credo from what I understand that is by voting Draxler Juventus ... I am extremely confident, not only a pinch .There let fool mediatiche.Per moves from left-back we are trying to Alex Sandro, but is an extremely complessa.Kurzawa patate.Siqueira ditto with the simplest (curve)

@Voller @Rabbit here is but a small example, the day Allegri was announced as our coach last year

yet I was in praise of allegri at the end of last season? stop with this bullshit. you have still yet to answer my question - do you honestly think having lost 3 massive pillars of our team that we are stronger than last season and considering how much our rivals have strengthened this season are you feeling confident? sure spew your rubbish about having won titles and all that shit but that doesn't hide the fact there is calls for concern with the season ahead especially since we are missing vital parts to our jigsaw
Remember when Roma won the Scudetto last summer after signing Iturbe?

Man get a trequartista soon. I'm trying to play as new Juventus in FIFA Ultimate team, and I've had to resort to a 5-3-2 because I have no trequartista.

-------------Morata------------Dybala--------------
-------------------------------------------------------
-------------Pogba--------------Khedira-------------
---Evra--------------Marchisio----------Lichtsteiner
--------Chiellini-----Bonucci-----Barzagli-----------

I want to play a 4-1-2-1-2, with Draxler/Gotze as my CAM, and Sandro as my LB.

Remember when Roma came up with their own transfer ideas?

Me neither...

Schalke 04 have reportedly told Juventus they must complete a deal for Julian Draxler by Sunday, or not at all.

The Bianconeri have had an initial offer for the German international rejected, but are still believed to be keen to bring the 21-year-old to Turin, and have a deal with the player.

According to Calciomercato and TuttoJuve, the Bundesliga side have set a deadline of Sunday for another offer, as they will not consider any bids after that day.

The purported reason is that the club’s open day is on Sunday, and Die Königsblauen do not wish to present one of their star men to the fans, only to have him leave.

Juventus are in no rush to complete the transfer, but may have their hand forced by Schalke, who wish to know as soon as possible whether they will have Draxler for next season.

You're missing the point here. Until our management fucks up and we have an awful season... they have earned our trust and faith. 4 straight scudetti, a CL QF, an EL SF, a CL final, and our first Coppa in 20 years. People doubting them and calling this mercato at disaster at this point are fools. We have no idea how our new signings will turn out. Even Zaza could become a world-beater for all anyone knows. He certainly has the drive and fire for it. Unlikely, sure, but stranger things have happened.

The point is, people need to chill on this barrage of pathetic doomsaying about our future. Our management has succeeded beyond anything that could ever have been expected 4 years ago, they've made brilliant signing after brilliant signing, they've hired the perfect coaches at the perfect times... they've been by far the best management team in all of Europe considering where we were coming from. It's fine to be a little worried about the loss of Vidal and Tevez, but to call our management inept, or to scream doom, is so unbelievably fucking stupid at this point in time.

Gotta consider salaries too.

But yes, apart from Madrid/Barcelona/Bayern/Chelsea/United/Arsenal/City/PSG, we have the most resources to work with in the world. I believe even with the new EPL deal, I don't think Tottenham revenue will be bigger than ours. No way.

So yes, we are the 9th most rich/economically potent club in the world. Gotta do a hell of a job to keep between the 4 every other year.

Seriously, you look crazy.

I've seen nobody say we are doomed, call management inept or anything like that, maybe apart from 1 or another guy.

What a lot of people is doing is simply judging the mercato moves, separately, regardless of who does them. It's a judgement that can be made in any separate deal.

For example, do I complain about the Isla experiment fail?? Hell no!! I was with Marotta on that one, it seemed the perfect player for Conte's 352, a world class to be rwb who would also offer an option as rw, rb, rm and cm.

So people judge according to the context of the moment of the move. History will tell if it worked or not, if Marotta was right or wrong and if the poster fucked it up or not.

And you have to understand, in 4 years it's the first time we lose important starters of the team. Guys we wanted to keep. Pirlo is OK to me, it was time to go. Tevez didn't left Marotta much choice. But Vidal going, the way he went, just seems wrong.

So it's normal people complain. It doesn't mean Marotta is the devil, while he's not God either. But of course, he's been doing a great job so far, overall. Let's see what happens this season. But I just can't agree on selling Vidal and paying 18M for the backup of the backup, when you need money for an AM and a fullback.

They have also made stupid signings and hiring of coaches likes del neri and the likes of armand traore, anelka, overspending on our own player in giovinco only to fail etc... so please dont serve it up that they are untouchable from any criticism because they have made some big mistakes in the past as well

There is a big difference in saying that they deserve the benefit of the doubt and stating that they are untouchable.

Unless you expect them to get it right every single time, and no club anywhere in the world at any point in the history of football gets it right all the time

They probably want to buy a replacement before the start of the season. They aren't doing anything wrong, just good business.
