Dybala, Khedira, Mandzukic, Rugani is an underwhelming mercato, cause Pirlo retired and Tevez+Vidal wanted out ?

K.

I would like a good trequartista alot. But what i dont want to sign, just to sign

You would go and trow 40mil on fucking Anderson. But you are exactly the guy that will go tell the entire world for decades once Marotta pays to much.
it is an underwhelming mercato.

last season what did we all agree on that we are missing? yes, a attacking midfielder or playmaker

guess what we have failed to sign so far? an attacking midfieder or playmaker

sometimes you can be so dense.

Comparison per position changes (not necessarily mercato):

2014 2015
DM Pirlo <<< Marchisio
CM Marchisio = Khedira
AM Vidal <<< Pereyra
SS Tevez >>> Morata
CF Morata >>> Mandzukic

So far we changed 5 positions, considering a player performance differs depending on position.

Improved: DM - Marchisio is amazingly better than Pirlo was last year as a DM. Team improves a lot.
AM - Last year Allegri was compelled to play Pirlo, leaving the only spot to Vidal as an AM. Pereyra is a better AM than Vidal.

Stayed put: CM - Marchisio was a spectacular CM in 2011 and maybe 2012.. but since then he was good but not great as a CM. Khedira could be just as good, even with different characteristics. Not world class, but good.

Worsened: SS - Tevez was the creator of the team. Morata as an SS is not nearly as good as him, huge loss.
CF - Morata is a better CF than Mandzukic. Offers more to the team in terms of creating/moving. Potential to be the best CF of the world.

I see it more like this:

Pirlo < Marchi
Tevez > Dybala
Morata=Morata/Mandzu
Vidal > Khedira
Vidal < Pereyra

I think the only obvious worsened position is the SS, with Dybala, we don't know how he will perform, but there is potential that he can do great!
Vidal as AM < Pereyra as AM, but Vidal in the CM role is > than Khedira/Pereyra/Sturaro, so this part depends on how Allegri lines up. but I hope we get an AM (Draxler, Isco, Gotze), so that would definitely make the Vidal move (as an AM) easier to swallow.
Marchi > Pirlo, no doubt, we all saw how Marchi performed in that Deep Laying role, was fantastic.

    underwhelming =/= whole mercato.

for someone in his 40s, you sure lack context and basic logic.

dybala, is the most important signing in terms of what he needs to bring. he is unproven, so we are staking everything on the hopes that he delivers big time.

we lost two very high profile midfielders and have not signed an adequate replacement in mid.

the team lacks serious creativity right now. even with pirlo in the squad we still had that issue.

Khedira...I guess winning a world cup and CL means very little these days.

you mean the guy coming from a serious injury, is 28 and declining? like vidal?

yeah no. every here agreed this was a good depth signing. if i told you this guy was coming to replace pogba or vidal in april, no one here would have approved. how quickly things change

Asamoah is like a new signing in midfield.

    You know it's true.
he cant even stay fit. for all we know he's the new pepe.

Your theories are well founded, I agree but its quite impossible to predict the post-injury form for Asamoah & Khedira.

I guess by December we will know for sure.

Suffering long term injuries =/= being injury prone.

    There's a difference.

Khedira himself said he was fit the entire season but Carlo benched him for other options.

    yeah true, hustoink

after the CL, if you told me the mercato would have been just a top AM, and mandzukic, with none of the core players leaving except pirlo i would have been delighted and called it a perfect mercato.

now i am a little nervous. it took 2 frustrating seasons to find someone to fill in del piero's boots. still havent found a guy to fill in nedved's, how long will it take to find someone to fill in pirlo and vidal?

cuspy, i am worried because asa came back from injury at the end of the season, now he is out until further announcement. this is not good because he needs pre seaosn to get in match shape after missing an entire season. how do you expect him to be a vidal replacement when he might not play for a year and a half?

and let's face it, our medical staff isnt exactly great in dealing with injuries

yeah are medics are sorta redonk

still think we will know more in a couple months. praise jesus if we sign an AM worth a hoot and imagine making it through preseason with no more injuries (barzagli can technically still be back before the season starts)

No, but it's a little too much, no? Losing Tevez was hard, but there was potential replacement in Dybala, so it wasn't too much of a fuzz. Losing Pirlo? Kinda sensitive loss, especially due to his lost creativity, but ok, we might compensate with an AM or Treq, but it looks tough, we most likely won't sign a decent player. Losing Vidal? Kedhira is really nowhere near as good as Vidal. Mandzu is an improvement on Llorente and Rugani on Ogbonna, but have we actually improved? No, I'd say we'll be lucky to be close to the same level.

Come on, we'll know if we improved - April or May 2016... Maybe players like Sturaro, Koman and etc will use their chances and be amazing for us. Why so negative, man. It's anti-sexy to be negative, you're all a good pussyblockers :D

So why is it possible to predict it for Vidal, saying he is in a decline and will never be himself and he has already maxed but not for Asamoah and Khedira?

    Our mid...

Pogba, Marchisio, Khedira, Pereyra, Sturaro, Asamoah...

6 players. 6. A very strong starting 3. Pereyra, who improved by leaps and bounds last year, and is turning into a very very good player, earning Argentina call-ups. Sturaro, who is an extremely promising young Italian mid. And perhaps Asamoah.

That's an exceptionally strong midfield, with excellent depth.

Damn I'm feeling this will happen.

Draxler for 32M... don't really know what to think...

But honestly I expect a lot of bumps on the road, specially in the first semester. I don't expect us to have a big margin of points against the others, wouldn't be surprised if by December we are in 2nd or 3rd place 5 points behind the leader.

And it would actually be OK. Growing pains. Have no idea how these guys will turn out. Draxler + Dybala + Morata + Mandzukic.
32m for this guy sounds very bad. Huge huge gamble.
