We need to underline one point here: Draxler prefers to play at CAM, and was played here when his career exploded at Schalke taking over for Lewis Holtby departing. Max Meyer, another promising jewel of Schalke, has pushed Julian out wide to field the best possible players on the field. This is not due to Julian being inferior to Meyer at CAM, but because Julian is versatile and able to play at LW as well.

Julians contract expire 2016
Julian is played out of position at Schalke
Julian will need a better team to improve as a player
We are in dire need of a CAM and offer a starting spot

The injuries can't be overlooked, but these are also part of the reason he's available right now - and for a price we can afford. Without injuries he could have been at Real Madrid right now(his favorite team), valued at €50m..
Well said.
We have the chance, and we should do it.

Di Marzio says "I'd like to see Julian Draxler in Italy, because it would be important to have a young German star in Serie A."
so funny
he thinks Draxler is rated in Germany
"star"
Hummels is a star, Lewandowski is a star. Draxler is just a kid who showed some talent 3 years ago and nothing since then

How he is rated across the wider continent is more important than how he is rated in Germany, if we are talking in GDM's terms of simply image. In England he's still thought of as this super wonderkid talent, and I'd say the same for Italy.
