Riquelme is too slow to be honest. Even though he is strong, u can see that Arsenal players can overtake him easily.

Riquelme is frustrated yesterday night. Did u guys notice that when he receives the ball, there r 2 - 3 guys around him, and everytime the Arsenal players make a tackle on him instead of the ball, they got away with it? Riquelme not only can't perform, he is also wary of himself as well. He complains a lot as well.

Not only him, Forlan and Jose Mari can't do anything as well. In fact the whole Villarreal squad is frustrated at the referee. But 1 thing good about Villarreal is, they have other alternatives in attack instead of relying on Riquelme all the time.
Yeah, the ref was really ignoring fouls by the Arsenal players, although he made some bad decisions on both ends. Riquelme even got a yellow card for protesting after Jose Mari was battered in the penalty area.

But although he is very slow his passing and vision are uber-class. He wasn't given much room by Gilberto, but it's clear that he is good enough for Juve. At least a much lesser risk then Rosicky.

Alex Ferguson reportedly approached Riquelme yesterday before the game.
The story was told by TV3 Viasat and came about because Fergie was staying at the same hotel as the Villareal players and staff, and went to Highbury to see the game.

There are no articles on this, only those comments on TV.

    i don't believe you guys,

Roman was by himself yesterday, no body supported him. Even sorin, the guy coudn't recive a ball or pass. Forlan wasn't there, running like an idiot. Maria, did nothing. henry made a 2 way street with Javi venta. the whole team under performed.

let me ask you this. let say that Ronaldino played for villareal. believe me he would have performed the same way Roman did. however, since roni plays for barca the team who plays them can't just put an eye on roni, you will still have deco, eto, messi, and even valdes.

the thing is, when roman comes to juve, we won't depend on him, because he won't be the only guy who will supplly the ball.

I think D'alessandro will cost a lot, but Moggi should change his ways and shell out for this guy. He's young, talented and got a lot of potential. Potential that I would like to see blossom at Juve.

Villarreal was clearly robbed last night.

Arsenal goal with 3 players offside ------> Goal allowed
Franco offside --------> offside + yellow card for dissent

To put it simply, Villarreal is playing against 12 men.

And Riquelme protested, what does he get? Free kick + yellow card

Aamzing how all the bookings go to Villarreal players
Yes Villareal were robbed, so many bad calls last night, bad tackles from Arsenal that didn't even warrant a whistle..

But I think their goal was ON-Side, from the replay you can see Tacchinardi playing them ON. His only mistake of the game, but costed alot.

Riquelme was shut down unfairly, Arsenal tackle very hard but are seldomly punished, even against our team.
And I hate those BIAS ESPN commentators....jeezzzz, the only thing I appreciate their commenting on was the Squirrel.

On the contrary, I think that 1 - 0 isn't a bad result for Villarreal at all, especially they r playing against 12 men. Even when Senna was fouled, when he committed a foul, he was so close to being booked. At least Tacchi is suspended again and not Senna, so Villarreal still has hopes of qualifying to the finals. If Arzo performs like the game at Highbury, Villarreal will be boosted.

the funny thing is that he's considered a penalty kicks specialist and before the shot,he was looking at the ball not the keeper..what a choker:disagree:
