Depends on Villareal's thoughts of how their season is going. Barca, RM, Valencia got the top 3 spots and Villareal will compete with Malaga and Atletico for that fourth spot. They lost their best player and going to lose another striker. If Villareal ends up being 6th in the league and Rossi only having scored ~13 goals then nobody would want to pay 30M for Rossi I think.

I see what you're saying but I highly doubt they are going to sell their star striker because of what could possibly happen in the future. I don't see us getting Rossi at all anymore but you never fucking know with our mercato.....

Sure.

We've been intrested in Rossi since the confed. cup.

We made a move that season. Got rejected.
We made a move last season when we had Delneri. He needed to replace Diego. We wanted a loan + option to buy. Got rejected, Villareal would only want to sell him.
We made a move for him this season, it was close but we wanted to give 22 + 8m bonuses and Villareal wanted more. Later when negotiations dragged on they decided to sell Cazarlo and said that Rossi wasnt on the market. If they fail out on CL then they would be wise to sell him, since a fourth spot will be out of their reach with or without Rossi and this is their biggest chance of cashing in on Rossi since he had his best season.

Sooner or later Rossi will be a Juve player. If we fail to sign him this season, we'll be first in line next season.
Its a money issue for us. We already signed a Vucinic instead. We don't have the funds for another striker and we don't need one now we've bought Vucinic. You're just speculating.

Wolfsburg had a similair issue with Dzeko. They wanted to keep him and challange for the title, when in January it was clear that the title and CL spots were out of the reach (they were 11-14th by then), they decided to sell him. The same Dzeko that Wolfsburg never wanted to sell to Juve (our offer was just as high as City's in January)

Sure is speculation, but Marotta did say Vucinic wouldn't rule out a top signing? :D

lol He means a winger and/or CB. We are definitely not signing Rossi. That's why we're offering 7M no more for Elia, trying to get a swap deal for Vargas, potentially offering 3M for Lugano and trying to get Alex on a loan. All signs tell us the funds are running out.

If it did come down to us selling quags, I feel like we could sign a better LW and possibly add amuri or someone to that which could get us a damn good LW. Then we get lugano with the remaining funds

It sucks donkey balls that we are trying to get rid of Quagliarella.
I would most certainly agree with you , especially since you and I were one of the few who welcomed his addition to the team when he was first signed.

I'm interested to see how this will play out in the next 20 days.

The guy carried the the team for a better part of the season when he was around. Its amazing how daft Marrotta really is, to thin Vucinic has solved all our striker problems and we wont be needing Quag anymore. If anything, he'd be the perfect complement to Mirko up front instead of an alternative. If this goes through, Marrotta should be banned from football.

I don't like where this is going with all the talks of a Vargas-Quag swap.

Don't get me wrong, I would realy like to have Vargas at Juve, but this wouldn't make sense.

The only thing that I can surmise from all this is that it has nothing to do with his previous injury. If he is still struggling with it, there is no way that Fiorentina would give up one of their better players for someone who is still injured.

I have to believe that there is more to this story about possible friction between Quag and Conte than meets the eye.
