I honestly dont get how you can be on this forum for almost a decade now, and still manage to miss the many times i've done the explenation for this. Either you are truely retarded, or exceptionally unlucky to miss it each time.

I like teams wich are effective and efficient. I like them to be tactically drilled and organised, and have a select few players who possess the finest flair and fancy, and can use it in a murdering efficient way.
This is basically the historical definition of juventus.
We have a no nonsense defence, with the added value of rather good passing and a player who can trow long balls efficiently.
We have a mass murdering rb/rwb who takes prisoners and gass them.
Alex Sandro, possesses great ability. But he'll only use it to get out of tricky situations if he's confident he can do it, or he'll pass. Sandro rarely loses the ball in a defensive situationned drible. When going forward, he'll mostly try things when he has a midfielder backing him. This is a fine example of making the most use of flair and fancy, but knowing when to do it.
Marchisio has exceptional technique and controll, and rarely demonstrates it, but can you remember when he lost the ball when pressed ? No, he'll do a quick controll and backwards/sideways move and pass it on. He is the key example, he knows he shouldnt fuck about
Our other cm's dont have noticable flair and fancy, except for Pogba.
Morata, zaza, manbro, mostly players who are effective at what they do, and dont pull silly shit.
Wich leaves Dybala and Pogba. These are the two players who in our system get alot of freedom to do difficult link-ups, dribbels, tricks etc. But they are allowed, because they can makde the difference with it, and do so very often. The rest of the team is molded into supporting and enhancing them.
As it stands, the starting 11 cant carry much more flair and fancy.
However, there is the bench. When you play an opponent like shitty the crap (aka genoa), you can greatly benefit of having a less effective flair and fancy option on the bench. Cuadrado might be significantly inferior to licht, but when you are pressing back that small opponent with ease, it is excellent to have a less effective flair and fancy option on the bench, to create all kinds of trouble. Cuadrado is known to be very uneffective with shots and passing, but he'll draw freekicks, and has a chance get into good positions many times.
This is why i'd like to have some more of this type on the bench. Fastpaced flair and fancy, for when you play a inferior team that is getting tired.

Cuadrado is one of two of three players in our squad who can produce a bit of magic to win games like last night. Ability to skin a player one v one and pull out some flair and fancy. Yes he can be frustrating with his shitty shooting/finishing in general but he is a great weapon to use against certain teams. Signing him is a no-brainer.
Thats why i said "Cant ... much more". Only the 4312 applies, but it has its limitations on others.

Yeah, he is horribly underrated as a depth option.
In the league, when the team isnt ticking forward, he'll get alot of freedom to try things, draw fouls, dangerous situations.
In cups, against a tired opponent, he'll work hard as fuck, and cause problems to his opponents flank, because they need to restrickt the forward movement of the fullback or risk getting horribly caught out of position when we recover possession and Cuadrado speeds in behind the fullback.
IIRC lazio or Inter was a nice example, when he was subbed on their entire left flank stopped working because they had to play deeper or get rekt on counters

I don't see how technical ability could be a bad thing. Of course you need players with a good workrate and teamwork but if a player posesses good dribbling ability on top of that it's only a plus. Unpredictability in football is the most important aspect of the game if a team doesn't have it everything becomes harder in attacking perspective.
Having just one or two difference makers in the team might work against the lesser sides but against the top teams you need more because it's not that hard to mark out one decisive player like Pirlo out of the game as seen against Bayern last time out.

Ah, when we say "flair and fancy" its about trickery, and trying fancy passes/moves . Technical ability is never a bad thing and its essential for most positions.

But I think the ability and willingness to take his man on is what makes him the player he is. Just by having that mentality and skill he requires attention and keeps defenses honest. And looking back on these last games he's played, the dribbling and pace has directly led to goals. I've read your posts on this forum and I agree with you 9/10 times, but this one I have to disagree with you. I think he should start over Licht. He's got several dimensions to his game which makes him difficult to read. If we want to reach that next level we need more of that.
if you've seen Neymar f.ex at Barca. He just stands there and three guys run towards him before he's even done anything. Why? Because he's a threat, he creates space just by being a threat. I think that is a very underrated way of being effective.

I'll continue the crusade till the transfer is official. Who knows, maybe Beppe's grandchildren read this forum and will pass on my recommendation 
This purchase is definitely happening, whether the grandkids endorse it, or not

Interesting part will be what Beppe can negotiate, both with Chelsea, and Cuads term/money.For me, what's making me change my mind towards thinking it's a good move is his continued adaptation to the wingback role. I didn't think he could be consistently effective at both ends of the pitch, but his work ethic, movement, and positioning in that role have been quite good the last 2-3 games (twice in that stretch, he was basically our best player on the pitch). He's definitely growing into the role.
I still very much doubt Cuadrado's effectiveness as a RB, or at TQ, and I still doubt we're going to play a 4-3-3 anytime soon. Provided he can rock that RWB spot though, his value to the team is significant.
