according to @Zacheryah and @King of Kings

"we shouldn't judge him by his form last year. we should look at his from from 2 years ago when he was beast mode."

yet when people say vidal was best cm in the world and he should not have been sold or should have gotten more money, their argument is this:

"he wasnt good last year. he is declining. he was only good 2 years ago"

Vidal started badly at the season, gradually found back his defensive skills, but has yet to recover his profilic offensive form. For me that was enough, because thats where he truely made the difference.
However, midfielders that arent scoring goals, have a lower price, how disgusting it might be.

I would have never sold Vidal. But he wanted out, and marotta got a decent amount in return. Fair enough.

Cuadrado left fiorentina, 6 months ago. In the 2014/2015 season he had

- 17 serie a starts, with 4 goals, 4 assists and 2 MotM. 1450 minutes, wich is pretty much full games every time save some late subs out.
- 3 starts and 2 subs in the EL that fiorentina didnt care about. he got one goal tho.

Then he went to chelsea in 2 FEBRUARI 2015

- He started 4 EPL games, and got subbed in late 8 times. Played a grand total of 312 minutes.
- Got subbed in one CL game for 11 minutes

Quadrado had a great first part of the season at Fiorentina, but played less then 4 total games at chelsea.

He was good less then 7 months ago. He didnt get his chance afterwards.

Guys, it's a fucking loan with option, that's the absolutely amazing part.
And I think we all agree that's a very good coup by us. It's just comments like Zach's like "we shouldn't judge his Chelsea performances" which do not make sense, or are at least hypocritical.

This is a superb transfer regardless of Cuadrado's form last season. The guy is incredibly versatile to the point of having played RWF, RWB, RM, even AM and LWF, and he's done well at pretty much every one of these positions. If he can regain some of Viola form, this would be immense.

Correct.

The problem was a lack of tactical commonsense from Mourinho.

As is well known Chelsea are world famous experts at turning at silk purse into a sows ear.

Here's a by no means exhaustive list of players they have signed since Abramovich arrived in 2004.

All of the undermentioned arrived after a very successful season with their previous club only for them to underperform quite badly.

J Veron
M Ambrosio
A Mutu
H Crespo
S Parker
J Macho
M Kezman
J Jarasik
A Del Horno
S Wright-Phillips
Maniche
A Shevchenko
K De Btuyne
H Ben Haim
C Pizarro
F Torres
R Querazma
M Marin

A catalogue of disappointment

I don't see the Vidal and Cuadrado comparison, although it's true that we become biased to suit our views. Cuadrado changed team (to a stacked team) and league only 7 months ago, it's not like he has been rattling around as a failure for a couple of years or more.

It's not like Vidal was abysmal or anything either.
