Isla is Conte's punching bag; a target for il mister's sadistic tendencies. Conte needs at least one player like this in the squad at all times. First it was Krasic, then Elia, and now it is Isla. 20 million well spent, imo, as Conte's deep need to mock and humiliate someone on a day-to-day basis can now be channeled to one sole target instead of being spread out evenly amongst the rest of the squad.

A motivated and satisfied coach helps the team win, so in many ways Isla is our most important player.

Way too overpriced, but an inform and fit Isla is light years ahead of Zuniga.
Diese.

This man gets it.

I don't mind us getting another LWB eventually,
but they need to be of a much higher quality than Zuniga. Asamoah is doing a more than serviceable job for us at the moment.
Exactly.

And we haven't even conceded a goal yet in 2 games and its not like it can be zeroed in on the left side as the source of mistakes.

I mean what the hell

Lets sell Tevez then and buy someone more clinical while we making fools of ourselves in this debauchery.

I'd rather resign straight line and play him on the left than Zuniga.

Sky - The renewal of contract with Napoli Zuniga would not be granted. Juve is at the window. Quagliarella hot name in output. Matri in stand-by

According to Sky Sports, the renewal of the contract of Juan Camilo Zuniga with Napoli would not be so obvious, but compared to some time ago there seem to be more likely. Juventus is always at the window for the Colombian, but it would be a bargain for the future since the player has a contract expiring in 2014 with the club in Naples.[...]

He's a great player but I don't see where we would play him. His main position is RWB and we have a reliable option playing there. I do think he's a better player than litcht, but do we need to spend money on a position that we have a reliable option?

He's a great player and I find it puzzling that some don't think so. He's powerful and fast. He's also decent on that ball and has a decent delivery into the box. He can also take his man on 1 on 1. The greatest thing about him though is his 1 on 1 defending. He reminds me of zanetti in this respect. Players just don't get past him, ever! Remember what robben did to us last season? I would bet a lot of money that robben would struggle to get past zuniga.

He has been playing as a LWB for the last 3 seasons and people still keep insisting how he is a RWB.

I guess you consider Zambrotta a RM too.

And by the looks of it Conte / Marotta really want him, so I hope we get him.

Zambrotta was excellent with his left foot and able and prepared to cross the ball with it.

Zuniga is not.

You will see that that will make him no more effective in attack as a left wingback than Asamoah, while being weaker defensively.
