perhaps he is played on the wing to get match fitness and in reality del neri plans to use him as third choice second striker ... i mean we have diego and del piero for that position. if you count in that we might wanna sub diego most games that are already settled at 70th or 80th minute we need someone to take the second striker role. alex del piero will be injured or fatigued a lot this season i guess, so it makes sense to at least have someone that is used to play as second striker and i have seen some nice things of martinez when he was given the ball in the penalty box ...

I feel sorry for this guy. He is already the Juventuz whipping boy. I personally liked Martinez the few times I watched Catania. This guy ripped apart big clubs when there.

Its unfortunate we really don't need him considering he is best played as SS. Everyone is up in arms that this money should have gone to defense but in reality its not his fault. I just hope he doesn't become the whipping boy and adjusts with a different role in Juve. If he can play competently on the Left side it would be fantastic IMHO
