Giving a player you bought for €12M a season ago for free to another club and paying his full wages is ridiculously stupid, no matter how you look at it, even for getting Giaccherini in the process.

We should've kept him. Might have been very useful for us in a 4-3-3, if Conte realizes that that's the way to go with this squad.

does anybody here actually want him?
does anybody here think he would get any game time?
does anybody here think that benching a player will cause us to get any more money for him?
does anybody here think it is wise to keep a player who will be unhappy at having absolutely no chance of getting played in anything but Coppa Italia ties?

NO?
well stop whining,we got rid of him! we made a mistake but god knows he might even have a decent season and retain some sell-on value

The voice of reason, how can anyone disagree with that?

I'm going out to celebrate the Martinez deal after reading your explanation.

The only hope is that he has a good season at Cesena. Stranger things have happened.

You're right, this deal is fucked.
Yeah, buddy. Actually, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he rebounds nicely. I'm sure Jorge did his best to take care of his body after last season, with a little continuity he may regain his confidence and form.

I just can't believe how many loans we're involved in, and all of the one and done deals that Marotta has made (or would like to make, considering it seems like he was also open to Bonucci and Pepe leaving).

To any neutral fan, it all just reflects so poorly on the club. Surely a fair number of players around the world have noticed it as well.

In fact we didn't get rid of him. He's still our player and we are still paying his wages.

We could sell him for nothing or loan him and hope he regains some value, then add him back to the team or sell him for more than we can now.

lol, not even wolfsburg would want martinez after last year....
And you were defending Marotta a few days ago for moves he did that are exactly similar to Martinez. Do you realize that the same outcome will happen with these players? Not even Trabzonspor will want the players that will fail at Juve.

i am not God and neither are you, so stop pretending you know the future. There are few guarantees when signing a player. Martinez was unluck and got inj. and never really recovered last year. he might have been great had that not happend, who knows?

same goes with some of the players with brought this year. they can be better or worse than expected. you dont think marotta and conte knows that they arent WC with lots of experience? its a little bit about trust, and i trust our scouts and DS and coach know more than me about the players we get. I dont pretende to be an expert after watching a low res video on youtube.

Some players will fail yes. Just like in every team.
