Juve’s Andrade plans return Wednesday 28 November, 2007

Juventus defender Jorge Andrade is firmly on the road to recovery and has set a provisional month for his comeback.

The Portuguese stopper picked up a serious injury against Roma on September 23 and has left a whole in the Juve defence.

A broken kneecap was expected to keep the 29-year-old out for more than six months, but there are signs that his recovery is ahead of schedule.

“I’m a lot better now,” he told the Juventus Channel. “I’m working to build up the muscle and now the knee seems almost healthy.

“I have worked hard over the last three months and I have work ahead, but I’m happy because I know that I will return better.”

The former Porto man already seems to have a month in mind for his return to the Juve side.

“Doctor Riccardo Agricola suggested February as a possible date,” Andrade revealed.

“There’s no hurry as I want to take as long as I need to come back and be useful to the side.

“The lads are doing well in my absence and I can only offer them my compliments.”

That's not exactly fair. Legrotaglie had more time, Andrade played just the first 4 games of the season, Legro played the last 10. Naturally with time, the whole defense looks better after each game. I'm sure had Andrade not got injured, he'd look at least better than Legro looks now.

Let me rephrase then. Legro looked better in the first four games he played than how Andrade looked in his first four games.

I'm not saying Legrottaglie has been great, i'm saying Andrade has been poor.

I know, I'm just stressing that Legrotaglie had it easier. When Andrade was playing in the first 4 games, the whole defense was completelly clueless and when Legro started after those initial 4,5 games the whole defense looked better and it was easier to integrate and offer a few good performances. I'm sure had Legro started those first few games instead of Andrade, he would have been catastrophical.

Andrade wasn't anything special, but given the circumstances I think he did fairly well. At least he didn't concede a stupid penalty which cost us 2 points.

Legrottaglie looks better than Andrade did.

I didn`t say he was imprssive.He did good considering that its first season here and Legro is here for like 16 years so you can`t compare them based on few matches.Legro did very well so far and that supprise me tbh.Considering that Criscito was kinda poor so far and he`ll probably go on loan somewhere and Boumsong might leave also we need Andrade to cover it.We`re out of CBs and looks like Secco won`t buy anyone in january.
